Note “(the irony)”

That is an article about defensiveness to which I’m asking for defensiveness. Surely he can use his speech like Cyril to tackle from behind?
He doesn’t do it else where, why would he do it in the forward line. If Colby was on a whiteboard… Scared of contact will be in the weaknesses
.

How the Firetruck can coaches award Nick “Pretty Boy” Daicos 2 coaches votes for a 34 disposal at 50% DE and 9 turnover game on Thursday? The media jizz circle has permeated the coaches circle. I cannot see Mitchell slinging any his way, so it must be Fly 🪰
34 disposals five tackles and a goal, 650m gained and he plays a role where Collingwood depend on him to move the ball. Its not that surprising. they didn't have many other good players last week.

It’s a perfectly valid criticism.

If Dylan Stephens was responsible for some of the efforts that Colby puts in he’d get absolutely pilloried and fair enough.
Its rubbish.

Posted this in his thread but it can go here as well:

Korn is talking straight up bullshit.

There hasn't been a game this year where McKercher's laid less than two tackles - last year in 14 games he had one or less. He had 40 tackles last year, 15 of them in two games, the other 25 across 21 games. This year he's had 19 tackles in 8 games. Massive improvement in consistency at this point.

Kornholio is making shit up to have a go at a young player. He's a bully and needs a smack across the chops.

We play a game where uncontested possession and controlling the ball is important, we have 10 CPs a game less than the leading side, our numbers match Brisbane, the side whose game plan we obviously copy (and who seem to copy Clarkson at Hawthorn in the mid 2010s for that matter. Makes sense given Fagan's role there.)

We have four or five players in the top 50 for contested possessions in the comp including the player with the highest CP average per game across the entire comp. So we don't need Kerch getting CPs when we lack outside run and line breaking speed.

Kornholio's analysis is poor and shows lack of understanding about the subject he gets paid to crap on about and on top of that he's using his piss poor analysis as an excuse to bully a young player but he can't even get his facts right when he does it.

The fact it took a basketcase of a tribunal and appeals hearing for this to be highlighted, and didn't raise eyebrows at all to any dumb campaigner at AFL house is just embarrassing.

I also wonder if the spotlight coming on the gambling industry has the AFL scrambling.

Genuinely all of us give the HQ far too much credit for impersonating a competent organisation. The more you think about it, the more its obvious that we have a bunch of donkeys working at AFL house. Nothing else is truer.

This x1000.

There are so many indicators the place is a farce. Makes Utopia look like a case study of Japanese continuous improvement.

For all their faults the place didn't seem so all over the joints prior to Dillon taking the top job.

You can almost trace the free-fall into organisational oblivion to the arrival of one Brad D.H. Scott to city hall.

Wouldn't be surprised if its nepo central in there.

Failed private school kids with nothing between the ears and big coke addictions being given important roles and failing to perform to the standard.

The Tribunal itself is just a raqueteering exercise. Dillon and Kane give the panel positions to their mates at the BAR who simply have to rock up when called upon, hear out the clubs and ensure the outcome is favourable to the AFL's best interests.
And then the invoice gets paid, 5k, 7k, 10k straight in the bank. Its free money. Its why any promising lawyer who may want to work with the AFL is just not going to get a look in. The roles are preserved for mates.

No, all of us do not. The incompetence has been evident for years and years

I bet Foot wished he had just sucked up the slight aimed at him. The fallout has been amazing. Hard to understand how the AFL didn't perceive any conflict of interest up until now. Unbelievable.

I reckon we play him in the wrong end of the Ground. He has the speed and skills to be running amok deep in the Forward line aka Watson and running down tackles (the irony) on the exit.

We all gasp when he’s charging at goal. We just don’t see it enough atm sadly
I agree.

So now a special assistance package with undisclosed determination is needed to help the powerhouse clubs of Carlton, Essendon and Richmond. WTF?

Was always going to be that way but just shows what an absolute sham the AFL is. Equalisation depending who your club is or what state you're from

When you throw in West Coast as well that is 4 of the biggest 5 clubs in the bottom 4. There is far too much financial risk (and hence lower bonus's for key AFL staff).

Expect some sort of draft assistance for these clubs at year end.

All this just to cling onto academy and father sons.

How about you just let clubs keep the pick they deserve via the ladder. 18th gets the best player, no ifs or buts.

I honestly can’t stand the people that w*k on about the romanticism of ‘father/son’. Who gives a sh*t. Fathers and sons play at many different clubs over their career. Jaspa Fletchers old man played at 4 different clubs for f** sake, and was actually captain of one that Jaspa wasn’t aligned to. “Ah, the romanticism of Brisbane making a prelim and then getting pick 2 and 12 and giving up SFA. It’s so great seeing Jaspa run around for a club his dad played 107 games of his 231 games, for”

If a club is so desperate to get a gun draftee because their old man played there, then come up with trade package to move up the order. If Lions wanted Will Ashcroft and identified he would most likely to go top 3, come up with a trade package to offer to GWS and North to move up.
“First rounder this year, next year, and McStay”. Like actual assets that North and GWS have to agree to. Not some made up ‘points that equal the points value of that pick’ or whatever garbage they use. If North and GWS don’t come to the party, then bad luck. You can have another crack at Ashcroft later in his career.

And the commentators and media heads that always pull the “father/son is one of the unique rules in our game, and we love it”. F**k up. Nothing will change if you keep rolling out that sh*t.

The academy thing is one of the single biggest jokes around, and we have no where near seen the damage this will cause yet.

AFL: “You get to pick up players that you have developed at a discounted rate, on any spot In the draft.

Northern teams: “yay”

Every other team: “yay”

AFL: (looking at every other team): “what the f**k are you ‘yaying’ about?”

On top of the new end of first round pick when a port Adelaide ‘academy’ player or father son goes number one of course…..
