Sweetie and Hornet does my ears in, bloody sickening.
Be glad he's not singing...

What are the next rebuild steps then, seriously?

Where will Adelaide's midfield come from in the future? B&F top 5 mids Dawson and Keays are 29 and have peaked. Other B&F top 10 mid rotation players ANB and Laird are past it.

Is it Rankine and Rachelle (provided he doesn't move [RFA or traded prior] to Collingwood) who fill the midfield void? Where then will Adelaide's future goals come from? No Tex, ANB, Keays, Dawson or Rankine and Rachelle now they're in the midfield.

Adelaide have spent their draft resource stock supply and future years draft resources look anemic for either drafting or trading in talent. The main hope lies in FA with either Zac Bailey this year or Will Day in 2027, but that will require trade capital. Otherwise it is organic growth.

How do you see it?
So what happens when Butters leaves this year, then Georgiades leaves for WA at the next opportunity?

You will have some nice draft picks and geriatric defenders.

"We would've won 5 games pushing Top 4 if we could execute skills"

Who knew that kicking and handballing was a factor.
To be fair it's "if Geordiadies could kick straight" they are getting him a ton of ball, you can't be kicking at sub 50% accuracy in the spots he's kicking it from.

Intentional + low impact + body contact = fine.

Move along, nothing to see here.
They’ll be arguing on the body contact vs high contact, clearly gets him in the neck, not sure what they constitute as high?

The midfield problem is a disconnect between Nicks and list management. They keep drafting midfielders and he keeps ignoring them. We are left to assume Dowling and Edwards arent up to it yet they clean up at Sanfl level and they both have had excellent AFL games. So not playing them is odd while screaming we have midfield problems give me trades. He is basically refusing to blame the existing system while blaming the existing system. Its quite the mental gymnastics

Its not a demand and supply model lol. The lower cost, the more subscribers. Its that simple. They charge too much, the product simply isnt worth it. People pay it because its the only option. Which means its a monopoly and they are price gauging expats. Maybe rethink your defence
Okay settle down there Mr Economics ("lol").
I'd be pretty sure WatchAFL's management would have a reasonable grasp of the realities of their market.
If they thought there was untapped potential, then maybe they would introduce a cheaper, ad-supported tier, but I suspect they already know that mostly only those already heavily invested in the game are going to subscribe (various sports networks around the world show games for casual fans).

Nobody is ever happy to see prices going up, however given it's the only option to get ALL matches live and on-demand, it's still reasonable value to me (you obviously disagree) and despite the issue this round, it has usually been a reliable service.

Watch AFL is owned by FOX, only marketed in Australia and aimed at XPATS. I agree with you its aimed at expats and holiday makers. Which in turn makes an absolute mockery of the AFL claiming an interest in trying to expand international interest. WatchAFL owns the sole broadcasting rights to the international market.

Lets examine the cost.

The economic cost of WatchAFL

In the USA, Australia and UK viewing markets disposable income is statistically larger and while watchafl is fine on an Australian income scale its actually absurdly expensive in most markets on the planet. Its is pound for pound more expensive to watch AFL outside Australia then in it on Kayo, Kayo provides more bang for your buck.

Is it a good service..sure, it does its job. But the cost is asinine and cant be justified.

Maybe we should have just traded our top 5 pick in 2024 if we were happy with our existing midfield.

WatchAFL is worth it to me.

No casual fan is going to sign up, ever. Even if it was $5 a month, I doubt many additional subscribers would sign up. You’re not going to get a random person in UK or Italy or Korea sign up out of interest even if it was free.

I think the price is pretty inelastic. The people that want it are willing to pay for it, and a 25% price increase/decrease is unlikely to change demand much. If you want to watch every game of AFL while overseas, there isn’t really any other option.

I’m fine paying $200 once a year and knowing I’ll have access to every game, tv show, live and on demand. But each their own.

About what, Port game? Haven't seen it as an international viewer. Looks like a good result, getting experience into youth, some mid range players stepping up, another close loss against quality opponent and our draft positioning remains intact.

Did you not wish to talk about Adelaide's rebuild instead of avoiding the Q? At least a couple have offered input: it has stagnated, it is done and now about experience loading.
You just made the pick you’ll get for Butters worse lol

My first thought

Nothing wrong with that..

After several replays

definitely gets him in the chin but because he didn't lift up damage was primarily limited to the body.

Consistency...Must get 2 matches

1. Absolutely chose to bump and lined him up from a long way out with little consideration to where the ball was. it was intentional and as it hit him in the chin it is technically high.
2. The MRO has said before its not the result its the action and he chose to bump and it was also high impact, his whole bodyweight hit him at force.

The AFL has made it abundantly clear they expect players to play with consideration for their opponents welfare. Hard to see a deliberate shirtfront aligning with anything close to that vision.

Butters is the Gold Child and the MRO babies him so I expect this excuse

We cant punish players going for the ball, for a brief second on a different replay you can see he glanced at the ball using peripheral vision so it was an accidental unavoidable football collision.
