I think you have to reward VFL form, especially with the younger players. Ison could not have done more to push for a claim. Frankie hasn't been horrific, but has not been good either, hasnt kicked more than 1 goal in any game so far this year so if someone has to make way I think its Evans.

Frankie is limping to the bye. Definitely not fit and should not be playing

Would love to know what Flynn has done, must be something going on. Would be a perfect replacment.
Was on a roll, then missed a couple of weeks while emergency for the AFL side. Think it halted his momentum a bit. Was one of our quieter players in the big win on the weekend.

Yes but he had put together a pretty good body of work for a forward right back to pre-season. Just wondering why no call up given others have been in far less form.

Agree with you but as bletch said hasnt been in the best form since coming back from emergency. Im sure he will get back to it. expect these guys to be getting a lot more game time once the club writes of this year.

Really hope that a number of them at least get a shot, Voss has gone to the same well for way too long and has only belatedly started to changes some things up.

Just tired of under performing "names" getting a senior game.

Agree but way the VFL is playing and developing I think many are better off staying there in the short term

Dogs are still a very good side but we really couldn't get them at a better time.

We can win this...but I've said that about almost every game so far and we're 1-8.

Ha yes I've seen a few acknowledge that. Guess it's a fair point but it would be nice to know about some of our not so new youngsters

Finally we've found the reason as to why our team is shit, it's you.

I want to see a few things continued with this week:

1. Harry as a ruck forward.
2. Ainsworth at more cba’s
3. Carroll and Ollie as our wings
4. Haywood spending a lot more time in the forward 50
5. More of Jagga at cba’s and around the ground
6. Zac at more cba’s
7. Cerra to play more outside (we have Cripps and George)

I would also like Billy to take Saad’s spot and be given a block of four or five games at least.
Great list!
Harry in the ruck is something I (and many on here) have thought should have been happening all year - he looked so good when he did it last year and thrived again where he can get some confidence up in the ruck and transport it to when he goes back forward.

I said last week Ainsworth looks our best recruit and he looked good again this week, Carroll could become our Ollie Dempsey.

Jagga definitely seems to disappear when played forward - get that he is still young but we look a lot better when he is through the middle - his clean hands are a standout

Hoping Haywoods game is a sign he is getting back to his best form

With all this promotional material the club is doing, I think there's no way Ison doesn't debut tbh.

Would think Zac W would be the 'face' of Doug Nicholls round for us, so perhaps he's out and Ison in?

We all know Voss loves to challenge injured players to toughen through and play.
The guy thinks you’re mentally weak if you don’t play, so the guys have no option.
No player management here…………here no player management.

Billy to be told to go direct attack at the footy and not worry about apparent holds and flailing your arms about chasing a free vs winning the ball.

Will need to take this on board to continue getting a game, the likely reason for his bench spot on Friday.
That was surprising to see. But needs to be given sufficient time to adjust to the speed of AFL and the tenacity of his opponents.

He’s grown substantially over the past 2 years in the VFL. With his physical attributes, I see no reason why he won’t do the same in the AFL if given time.

If Motlop can be given a 30 game run of sub par performances in a row….id hope Billy can be shown a fraction of that patience and investment.

Especially in a year when the season is cooked after 9 games.

Is there a lot wrong with thinking Billy Wilson could turn into a good tagger on midfielders like Richards and Daicos?

I’d like to see them mix it up a bit. I felt the midfield looked a MILE better with less one paced plodders in there after half time on Friday.

23 centre bounce attendances for Hewett and Cerra combined…..for one clearance. They are shit at everything else. Game has gone past these guys. Drop one or both.
Saad & Carroll each had a centre clearance without a cba.

Cowan and Williams each had 1 CC from 2 CBA (50%)

Smith was the best actual mid rotation (albeit a smaller one) with 2 from 9 (22%). Cripps next best with 3 from 28 (11%), then Hewett with 1 from 13 (8%).

Walsh (23cba), Cerra (10) & Ainsworth (3) all came up with donuts.

So clearly on the CC front our best combo must be Cripps rucking with Cowan, Williams and Smith at his feet, plus Carroll & Saad coming in from back flank & wings respectively...

Bring in Reidy and rest Pitto. English isn't playing due to concussion and Dogs don't have any mature bodies backups. Reidy showed on Saturday he can monster beanpoles.
don't hate it

I think Ison would be the perfect in right now considering how poor the doggies' backline depth is.

The coach is very stubborn with what his best team is. We have seen it time again, will play his man who is injured over someone who he sees as a reserve who has form.
