And yet it seemed that the Sandy boys were the antagonists for mine.
But that's not excusing our boys in that they need to deal with those situations better.
And to learn that its not only them but the club/team suffers the consequences as well.

Fincher is a really neat player but he's a lot like Carroll. Doesn't really do anything special but plays to a good even standard. I doubt he pushes Carroll out. he's been pretty good lately.

If Wood is injured which he looked pretty sore, I think Banfield could get a run. Barratt is probably the one that could debut after a good game the same week as Wilkie went down.

I'm thinking Fincher can accumulate more of the ball than Carroll but Fincher has mainly played in the midfield in the Vfl, so cant really assess that yet.

I'm all for flying the flag for the club--in fact I have been critical of our senior team not doing it enough in previous seasons. However, the boys as you said need to deal with it better and engage within the rules (notwithstanding if the rules are soft as custard).

2 weeks off for Tauru might be a good thing. Gives him a chance to rest his weary bones and get set for the next half of the season. Like others have said, it'll do him good.

Getting 4 down to 2 with the easy plea is an incredible result. Take the lesson so we never see a repeat of it and hope Wikie gets up this week.

With Armstong's suspension, thats now 5 in 9 games from the VFL. Need them to work on their self control and their bumping technique because we cant constantly have our young guys missing development time.

Was in the rooms after the match, Roo (Tauru) had a few choice words to say about why he hit the bloke As they say, you can take the boy out of Gippsland, but you can't take Gippsland out of the boy. For a 19 year old, he's bloody impressive, has superstar written all over him, although the butterfly tattoo is a little soft lol.

Maybe it's just me but watching the replay fwiw those were the softest punches you'll ever get 2 weeks for. I've seen jumper punches with more force just ignored in the AFL.

I've got no issue with the Tauru verdict but listening to that fwit Christian justify his decisions on Pickett and Butters is comedy gold.

He could've saved his breath and just said if a high profile player in Brownlow contention offends, we will bend the interpretation any way we like to get them off. If only to protect the sanctity of their 'best and fairest' medal. Butters could be suspended every week if they were fair dinkum. He's just an angry little prick. Meanwhile some young relatively unknown players trying to make their way in the game regularly cop two weeks for similar offences and no one bats an eye lid.
