Will likely need to be on top in the clearances and take territory to be a chance

It'll be interesting to see who steps up in the forwardline. Rayner the only one yet to get going this season. Cant expect 2 or 3 of Logan, Kai, Charlie and Zac to fire every week

Likely outcomes today:
1. We win. We are the greatest team to have ever played and lock us in for the next 5 flags.
2. We lose. The dynasty is over. All our players are drinking their own bathwater, we have list holes everywhere and time to trade out everyone while they still have currency.

I reckon they might get this one. It looks like it might be a bit slippery too, which probably helps them more than us and our kicking game. Really need the midfield to be switched on tonight, which you assume they will be given the opponent.

Their recent forward handball game may not be a particularly great game style in this weather so as long as we bring high pressure all game, and the mids are on, we will get them.

nervous about this one, their ins are better than their outs, and we are still below optimum strength, so any win will be a great one, the proverbial 8 point game (4th vs 5th) just win ffs :)
Agree, but some could be underdone. Wonder if any will be late outs though?

I'm also nervous, especially because Geelong got us a few years ago when it was a wet night, however they're coming off a 5 day break though.

5 day turnaround gives me hope. Also we seem to have cracked the code on beating them since 2024 prelim, with the only exception being when they came with the tagging gameplan on McCluggage and Rayner in last year's quali. Scott will have something up his sleeve to disturb us, but we should win this one if the midfield do their part. Dropping Worpel is interesting, without him it's just Atkins doing the hard body work in middle - which could play to our advantage too.

They've also dropped Stanley and playing Edwards, if we could get ascendency there with Draper and Fort then they'll be forced to move Blicavs to the middle for a higher percentage. That'll help.

Playing Curtin is classic Fagan, throw him a challenge and see how he can deal with it. Go well young man, I'm sure he'll be asked to negate Tom Stewart - good learning experience for him.

I've become a Tunstill supporter this year, bit surprised he got overlooked for Marshall after how well he played in against Adelaide. Hope Marshall steps up to the challenge, I believe he'll be running with Dempsey.

Dempsey would be a logical match-up. Very small frame but excellent runner. Also very aggressive in running forward so Marshall will need to be on.

First look for us in terms of Marshall trying to play Ah Chee role from Grand Final. Ah Chee is far more experienced and disciplined to pull that one off against Dempsey for 3 quarters. I don't doubt Marshall's ability to run with him, my concern will be whether he'll stick the hard tackle. Ah Chee usually goes hard on that front.

ifc hello darkness my old friend GIF

Curtin has the size, reach and aggression.
I'm hopeful he'll do a good job and a kick a few too.

I'm a huge believer. That's why I backed him in the goalkicking comp. Surely he won't let me down!

We need to do everything possible to secure Chris Scott as our next coach, even if it means taking bold, uncomfortable steps. Our kids are far too talented to fall short. Under the current Fagan setup it’s hard to see us genuinely contending again. At some point, difficult decisions need to be made if we want to maximise this window.
