nah disagree - Collings best years were in the tweenies, who knows how good Doolan or Quinn are as they haven't ventured outside this level of footy (not a criticism at all). No doubt they would be good but when this comp was super competitive with Noosa and Maroochydore in it they were seen as very good players, not extraordinary as they now are 10 years later! I think it's more a reflection on the standard of div 1 vs when Mayne was playing against Noosa, Maroochy, (a strong) Springwood.

I watched the magpies last week for a while - stayed with Maroochy for a half but don't have the cattle to sustain for a full game. They aren't a basket case
agree,, must say the difference in standard is a big jump even with the last 2 or 3 clubs at the end of the ladder in the main comp ..

Sorry, I’m late to the party with tips. I thought they went through last night - obviously not.

My Tips:
Broadbeach
Morningside
Redland
Palm Beach

watched Broadbeach and Labrador play another thriller ....was a good standard game and note the Cats had their best 2 players absent be it Erickson and Gilmore....some good youngsters in the Cats side and the coach is doing a very good job with this list.

Wouldn’t have thought Fletcher Clare in best 50 players in competition so let’s settle down a bit. Whilst it’s good Vultures have a few good kids that look solid QAFL players the key will be keeping them interested whilst trying to be competitive so they see a long term plan for remaining at the club.
Just had a 40 disposal game against grange mate, so forget top 50 this kid is a top 15 player in the QAFL right now

Performing against Grange midfield is massive achievement. Let’s do it consistently against the better sides then you might get him into top 50. I reckon I can name 15 quite easily ahead of him in varying positions. Not all just about disposal numbers?

Would think #2 in comp for inside 50s, #6 for disposals, and #5 for clearances would make a top 50 player in the comp lol. Not sure what planet you're on

Archie Robert’s is leading disposals in AFL and top few for metres gained so does that make him a top 15 player in competition?

I assure you disposals aren’t even a guage within 4 walls of most decent sides. Inside 50’s aren’t really a highlight either as depends where and how they coming in and we are talking about one of the lowest scoring teams in competition so not sure they would be deep quality entries.

Sometimes it’s not just about statistics. We all entitled to opinions and you obviously rate him which is good for the young fella. But I think there is probably 3-4 better players from each side in top 8 ahead of him at present.

That may change by season’s end and players get a year older next year and he may come up the rankings, but right now not sure he is a top 15 player in competition. But you entitled to your opinion as am I and we just differ.

Hey mate, you said he wasn't a top 50 player, not 15.

Fletcher Clare is a fine player. Carltonbopper and the Mt Gravatt supporters on here you’ll all have him in your selected combined team, Still Me, who knows a little about recruitment, I dare say wouldn’t. Each to their own.

Are there state selections this year?
