He did well and is probably the toughest player on our list; but five day turnaround and a flight across the country has me pretty concerned. It's a very daunting tasks even with Wilkie in the side, he's crucial to us having any chance imo.

Went off late with Caminiti going back - so still 3 “talls” in defence

I'm not sure we'll have the personnel to get this done. Would have been nice to have Owens in to challenge them without Pearce. Big challenge for the young midfield going up against one of the better engine rooms.

Longer term I'm really feeling we are on track. Garcia going elite wasn't on my bingo card. Completely changes things with Hall and Nas in there too as well as Darcy going up levels. There are some really exciting kids on our list right now.

I'd bring Wood in for LOC here. Love LOC's toughness but Wood went bananas in the VFL and gives us another attacking lever.

I feel like a club-defining win is only just around the corner. Not sure this is the one but we live in hope. But things are starting to click in many ways.
