Hmmm Commentator missed a trick there:

“You could say signed, Sear-ed, delivered for Peel”

Didn’t go for it though.

Thought Sean might have been done for the day but he's still out there and influencing the game. I thought he was going to play 80 min. He's certainly been very involved in his TOG.
Yeah had a nice tap to JOM there.

A half-fit Darcy is still better than Flynn.
And better than Cox.

Cox is reluctant to handball tries dinky kicks including a horrible one into the centre of the ground favouring Brisbane Lions and cannot mark.

I’m all for Darcy getting a block of WAFL - 2 more games. Cox can roll up against North then hit the bye and Darcy play vs Geelong.

This would be the plan you would think

I went to sleep at half time, but from what I saw, I am not sure that Davies puts his name ahead of MacDonald if we do want/have to make a switch for Cox - did anyone who watched the whole thing have a different opinion?

I think that was Carr's best game for Peel Seniors - was he playing part centre midfielder at times?

If we needed to rest a small forward I would be pretty comfortable with Murray coming into the side; he has been one of the player who has been slowly influencing his influence across the whole year, but I think he work up the ground has improved a bit over recent weeks, whereas before he was very much staying at home.

Davies didn't scream pick me, not a great day for talls tbf

But I think he is the right replacement for Cox, Omac makes more sense for Pearce

According to the WAFL site, JOM was best on ground. If Johnson is sore, would you give him a break and play JOM?
Are Young and Serong both back against North?

If so, they'd already be coming in for Johnno and presumably Scerri. So JOM isn't coming in for 1 of them 2, JOM would be coming in for I assume Wagner/Ras.

And neither deserve to lose their spots

Selection headache coming up!

I watched it and would say JOM had a good second half but was not great in the first. Some terrible handballs. I would prefer Sharp if Johnson is out until JOM puts together more good footy.

JOM would be a great weapon for finals.

Opposition supporters claiming Freo have no finals experience are forgetting about Jackson, Bolton, JOM and Cox

Has JOM ever played in a winning final? Thought it was just 2018 and 2025 lost elimination finals.

Not sure JOM is a great Weapon in finals or regular season games. But when up and running he is best 22 material, a big strong body and good user of the ball. He started to show some good signs in the second half. If Johnson is out with Hamstring he would be a good replacement. Of course we also have Young to come back, potentially Serong.

I think they will likely err on side for caution for Serong. Young is a definite you would think - we need to get games into him. JOM next in line may have to wait for an opportunity.

Felt NOD played really well yesterday which is good to see. Erasmus got a hiding from Zac Bailey on wing in the first half. They switched things around and Erasmus had much improved second half.

Scerri is another under pressure.

I think the Freo boys all played im parts. Tobyn Murray was very good in patches, JOM good second half. Darcy had some nice moments. Thought Bailey Banfield was rock solid. Cooper Simpson good first half but also quiet for patches - particularly second half.

Davies and Draper solid.

Sweid tries to do too much. Bites off more than he can chew. Had opportunity to get off an earlier handball but messed it up by taking on multiple players. His U18 highlights show his agility and ability confined space to work through multiple players but against men he needs to adjust and go first option. He worked hard today 14 touches and 10 tackles.

Yes this is my feeling as well, the number of times over the last five or so weeks where he has cleanly got the ball in congestion and has time to shoot a handball out or even kick it but instead holds on to it and tries to either draw a man / multiple players and then just gets caught holding the ball.....

Inclined to think we'll bring Darcy straight back in. Cox is playing bugger all ToG (55% yesterday) which is about what Darcy played in the WAFL in his limited minutes. And it's not as if Cox is spending that 55% sprinting from contest to contest. Hasn't been providing significant run over what Darcy showed today. This is not to hate on Mason, but he's depth, and he's 35. Darcy couldn't have done too much more with his limited ToG. 35 hitouts, 6 marks, 13 touches. Kicking the set shot would have been nice, I suppose.

I understand the impulse to build safely, but we've already shown we'd prefer an undercooked Darcy over Cox. And besides, there's no real safe build: you can get injured playing the WAFL.

Mason is cooked. No crime in it happens to everyone (well not me; as I keep explaining to my kids. They don't believe me)
