Consultation has started and is continuing between board and clubs .

So you’ll have a 2nd division next year?

The Picola League has progressed through significant shifts since the 1990s - the adding clubs from the Tungamah, Murray and Coreen Leagues.

Tungamah, Katamatite, Katandra, Dookie United, Shepparton East, Strathmerton, Tocumwal, Berrigan, Jerilderie and Rennie and now Barooga have returned. These clubs have made it very difficult for the original Picola Clubs to progress through to regular Grand Finals.

Looking back to 1993 when the league had just the 8 teams; Blighty, Deni Rovers, Katunga, Mathoura, Picola United, Waaia, Wunghnu and Yarroweyah. Only Waaia and Picola have had Senior Grand Final success in recent years. Wunghnu and Yarroweyah are gone.

I really don't like leagues having to operate with more than 10 clubs per division, you end up a really long way from the top in that arrangement. Playing in the PDL in the 2009 season was insane, the clubs were so tightly matched that it felt like you could win or lose any particular fixture. I feel that if there are clubs that can be attracted to bring about two geographical divisions that the league should pursue it.

Katunga would have spent more then just about most in the last 10 years for no result !

Witnessed some of the best cohesion of officials/trainers and umpires of clubs when a mathoura player got stretched off at katty yesterday.

I wonder how Deni’s netballers would feel about Knight playing footy for them, blokes an absolute grub of a human…..

My experience is that all the trainers work well together across the whole league, glad to hear the two clubs worked as one when it come to an injured player.

Is there any back story that is allowed on this platform
Not a great time to have controversy at Club level with the hype around a tyrendarra player being charged with sexual offences, being allowed back at the club until the community found out.
The ABC is running a expose on club culture and they are looking for any reason to pot clubs or leagues

Tyrendarra knew about it all along. They only acted when the issue became public and the blowtorch was applied to the club about their decision to let him continue to play.

Yeah definitely, you think if it happen on their footy trip and he already he used the other players as pier pressuring him into drugs as a defence, they would cut him lose and save the hassle

An interesting ladder at the moment with 4 teams still awaiting their first win with 9 losses to start the season; Blighty, Mathoura, Katunga and Rennie.

Then just above them on the ladder is Toc and Picola with 4 wins and still in the hunt to make the 8.

The duck should break for either Katunga or Rennie as they play this week. Blighty and Mathoura may have to wait a couple more weeks yet.
