Not true, players and board didn't have any issue with him and you couldn't class him as a traditional old school coach. Would have got another contract at Morningside if he wanted it but time was right to move on.
I'd be surprised if this was true, sounds like a classic bigfooty rumour. I don't think he's played a single junior or senior game for them. Was meant to play 2020 before NEAFL got cancelled.
Robinson lives around the corner from Morningside where his kids seem settled. I imagine he took a little less not having to relocate or fly every weekend.
Not that I'm aware of. There's been instances where teams have had to really think about who they put on the park on a certain week which is a good thing, as it was designed.
Which I think supports not having a salary cap at all if it's not going to be policed. Removes both the methods clubs may go to skirt the rules as well as the unfounded rumours you hear to discredit teams and the legitimacy of the league. The points cap is fair and easy if done correctly.
The comp should do away with the salary cap. Clubs will spend what they want to spend and find loopholes to do it. Not worth the administration and time to unwind it all. It'd be more worthwhile being more vigilant on the points cap in assigning the right total weekly cap and number to each...
It will be easy to have a go at Broadbeach but it just shows how tough it is to win a flag. Three Grand Final appearances in a row is still a cracking effort and they'll always have 2021.

With all the cash they're splashing on players this year I hope Labrador one day find some pennies in their budget to upgrade their change rooms. Nearly on par with the old Sandgate rooms.
I very much support the AFL draft system but I do hope we're not comparing a multi-million dollar competition with that of the local footy where clubs are mostly voluntarily run and the players play as a hobby/past time.
Fairness is not telling a kid where he has to play. Fairness is the points...
