The awarding of the 20th AFL License presents a brilliant opportunity for the AFL to take the greatest sport in the world and start to put it on the International map. The best place to launch this is New Zealand. New Zealand has a big enough market, suitable ground/stadium, travel costs are...
Personally would really like to see Robert Harvey given the opportunity. Voss, Buckley and Hird were all given the opportunity to coach their sides with a far less comprehensive coaching apprenticeship than what Banger has already completed. Hoping he gets the opportunity to coach the club he...
Sam Powell Pepper, seems to be abit on the outer at Port. Think he would be a good acquisition for us. Would add some toughness and flair. Wonder what it would take to get him
LOL I have not seen any evidence whatsoever for your assessment. So more than happy to disagree. He is a good tough, athletic footballer that add plenty to the Saint I would say Richo would have a big tick next to his name the same as Buckley who has said he rates him highly. High praise from a...
I have already stated that I wouldn't regard him as a priority target and that any we have to get a gun like Fyfe or O'Meara should be taken. Personally I would see Jong in the best 15 or so I be very keen to see him at the Saints.
If you have seen him play and understand the style of pressure football Richo and the coaching staff are implementing you would understand why a good tackling very athletic player like Jong would be such a good pick up.
Who to say they would be a better player than Jong. Another assesment that has no credible way of being evaluated. Good player holding a spot un a good side. I back his form rather than speculation.
Also on O'Meara believe a first round draft pick and a depth player maybe enough to get him. And...
Ridiculous assessment of a player holding a regular spot in a finals bound team. Happy to disagree with you on this an say absolutely ridiculous assessment.
Jong isn't a gun but he'll complement what we have and his style of play fits the high intensity pressure football style that Richo seems to be implementing. Jong will be a handy asset no doubt about that.
Utter garbage he would command a regular senior spot he is holding down a permanent position in a club significantly higher placed than us currently so the better question would be who retains their spot.
I disagree we need blokes that can play a role in the team structure. Saints footy and the game plan seems to be based on high intensity pressure Jong fits that bill exactly as well as giving our midfield genuine pace he would be a very good fit for our midfield.
Yes we need top end talent not...
Your kidding surely while I don't expect he would be on huge money but he would certainly be on more than base wage. Let's not forget the bloke is holding down a regular spot in a finals bound Bulldogs side. And Collingwood have shown interest in recruiting him. Would imagine he would commanding...
Can't see why we would have to pay him too much more than he is currently on. Slight increase to entice and a extra year or two contract for security would probably seal the deal I would think. Unless Collingwood have upped his price which would I agree have to be a consideration.
First of all I disagree with your assessment his kicking is ok and his awareness also is reasonable He isn't the most polished footballer going around but neither are some of our guys. But as outlined by pebblesofsand his attributes athleticism, pace, tackling and intensity would more than...
Think we could really do with a pace injection in our midfield. What do people think the Bulldogs would want for Lin Jong? draft pick or a player trade or a combination of both? Seems like he would be a really handy pick up that wouldn't cost us too much.
Another guy I that I think would be a good Senior AFL coach is Peter German. He has had success everywhere he has coached. Burnie Dockers in Tasmania, did well at Peel Thunder in the WAFL and then won multiple premierships with Subiaco Lions. Has also been successful in his VFL coaching at...
Michael Chang was a brilliant tennis player. Entrenched in the top 5 in the world ranking virtually his entire career and pretty sure a fair portion of that as the world number 2 ranked player. Goran was never close to being as consistently brilliant as Chang. No one who has ever seen a Michael...
