    It's pretty straight forward for me. Mitchell is the players' leader of the "club" in general and Hodge is in charge on field. Works beautifully IMO.

Hawthorn's "full court press" has helped deliver 13 wins out of 17 this season with a defense that can only be described as short of assets but high on heart. Why dismantle it now? Why not continue to evolve it? Geelong's offense begins...

    Love the post Gary, but just a touch queasy about "Hawthorn Nation". It gets used pretty often in Major League Baseball circles as a scant reference to the American Indians. For my 5 cents worth I like "The Republic of Hawthorn"
