Draft Profiles Wiseby Style - West Aussie's Only

None other than the chronically overrrated Stephen Hill. Seems that if you break a few DC records you can play with the best of them. Stephen Hill 182/69 West Perth STYLE LIKE: Mark Nicoski *TRADEMARK: Running with the Flight mark *SUMMARY ASSESSMENT, RECOMMENDATION...

Draft Profiles Wiseby Style - West Aussie's Only

I borrowed the great Colin Wiseby's template from years gone by to evaluate the pro's and con's of some of W.A's hopefuls for this year. Im not going to do one for either Yarran, Nic Nat or Rich because you've all read enough and most of you have made up your own minds. But here's a couple...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

So from all this constructive debate, which I have enjoyed, do you see West Coast venturing above say 12th? Me, no. Need another couple of years before they can even think about entering the 8.

Works though. Probably why his hammies are do dodgy.

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

know what you are saying but I know for a fact that Cousins worked with an Australian sprinting coach to work on his first 5-10 metres. If you grab some video footage of his running style from 97/98 and then align it next to Cousins of 2002/2003. You will see a significant difference in his...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Hang on, a second ago you said Priddis had no idea how to play as a pure midfielder did you not? Are you retracting that statement? Secondly, Cousins worked tirelessy on his fitness and speed. He always had the fitness, but dig from Gary Ayres about how little his touches hurt saw him work...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Ask yourself how they find themselves in space. And on the second highlighted line, Priddis won a Sandover playing as a pure midfielder, the pace of the game is significantly slower at WAFL level so he had more time to place his kicks. This isnt the case in the big league.

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Im sorry, but Rowan Jones was also one of your hardest workers but he couldnt make a decison and he slowed down the play so many times. Rosa does exactly the same thing. Watch him, or a replay and you'll see what I mean. He'll mark the ball, trot back on his mark have this look on his face...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

If blokes can run into open space they will have less pressure than a hurried kick from a pack. EG, Let's say Kerr fired out a handball to Priddis who is goalside of his opponent by a metre, Priddis takes 3 steps and is caught. In Geelongs case, Bartel fires out a handball to Ablett who is...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Why is it better? I havent actually said that it is anywhere along the line have I? But if you want me to I gladly will. We have the second best Ruckman in the game, a NAB rising star in Palmer who has proven himself, already, to be a certified ball magnet running machine. He can...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

You're still not making any sense. I have stated that West Coast's midfield is too slow and lacks any real polish. If anything, you are backing my argument up. Top shelf :thumbsu:

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Right. I would say only Kerr has the ability to burst from a pack, and he is only the really slippery player in the West Coast midfield. Hurn is not reasonably quick, your own supporters are labelling Rosa Rowan Jones mkII, Embley was moved from the middle to a half-back flank...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

You study law and this is the best you can come up with? Why is it that whenever a flaw of West Coast is revealed to the board you seek to turn the attention back to Freo? If you wish to talk about Freo, start a thread on it. But for now, stick to the topic at hand do you wish to argue that...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Oh, dear lord. You sound like the Parrot of West Coast. There is a massive issue with the West Coast midfield, massive. It is slow and lacks any real class. Daniel Kerr could be the only midfielder considered to be elite or close to, but having witnessed him being negated time and time again...

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Nice one dumbshit. Cant blame that on a typo, that's just plain stupidity. :thumbsu: Going on from your theme of our unexperienced backline I'd like to point out that Macpharlin, Grover, Hayden and Michael Johnson will still be playing in defensive positions. Between those 4 players that's 447...

Havent argued with the OP I see. Whys that? You cant. West Coast are the least talented/slowest outfit in the AFL.

Just how bad will West Coast be in 2009?

Im thinking they will be the Demons of 2008. There is just nothing to suggest they will improve in any way shape or form. The midfield is perhaps the worst in the AFL. It's a pity that the best Ruckman in the game has nothing to work with after he's tapped the ball. It is slow, lacks...

Who do you want at pick 3?

Extrovets generally act in that way to cover self-doubt. For me, either Yarran or Swift.

The WestCoast Tankers the 2009 big improvers

No midfield and no forward line. 15th again. Massive issue in the forward line. A team of plodders, Stenglien, Priddis, Ebert there's just no pace and Kerr is easy enough to negate and getting in his head is like opening a packet of twisting, it aint hard. Will be smashed again.

The Ironist Phantom Draft Resource 2008

This is what I hate. Just because an event is taking place people feel compelled to have a say even though they havent enough knowledge to do so. I had to laugh at some your descriptions. Banner needs to become more inside? He's never left the inside of a pack. And little descriptions like...

    Peel is so inept

Recently learned they changed their constitution, instead of developing their own, or contacting a lawyer or quality sports administrator they simply cut and pasted Essendons Constitution. :o I have been a big backer of having Peel remain in the WAFL, but this club really needs to step into...

    A name to remember

Michael Johnson. Currently a WACA rookie contract holder, keeper/batsman. This kid can play, very natural behind the stumps, elgant, compact shotmaker and is really putting some heat on Ronchi to perform. Personally, I think he'll be in the baggy Green within 5 years.
