Practising his celebrations and getting his face on bus stops probably wasn't ideal for his development. I feel sorry for the kid.

It's refreshing to see someone put the heat on the player rather than blaming recruiters or the match committee. Rachele played game one after being drafted and started on fire. He was given every opportunity right from the start. The slide has been slow and steady. Is it development or is it...
...a more technical role as he mature and struggling with putting in the hard work to get to the level.
He is at a crossroads right now. Put in the hard work and he can be elite.
His mate Soligo is doing just that.
Or coast and be ChadWingard 2.0.

...- even though he is injured, i still think he has a future playing the key defender role that Frost is dominating at this season
23. ChadWingard - a quality forward that is coming back from injury, he was getting close to his best before his unfortunate injury late last year

...before being drafted to St Kilda in the Mid-Season Draft yesterday evening thanks to a mild back issue that kept him out of the game. ChadWingard, on the comeback trail after tearing his Achilles tendon late in season 2023, kicked two goals for Box Hill from 11 disposals to be the only...
100%.
I would play 2/3 of Gunston/Breust and Wingard at most (with one as the sub to provide coaching from the bench). Rotate them to get them through the season.
Until finals looks like a reality and Chad looks too good for VFL level then I personally wouldn't be playing him at all.
Currently neither of those things are happening.
As a result I don't really understand what a forward line of Gunston, Breust and Wingard does to help us in a development...
Bris 108 to BH 35. Many words to describe that performance but I’ll refrain. I did only watch the second half so I would defer to the reports of others for a complete picture. Please no repeat tomorrow.
Ward: our best player but that isn’t saying much. Aside from a terribly soft 5 minutes he...
...2016 - Sam Petrevski-Seton
2015 - Aaron Francis
2014 - Caleb Marchbank
2013 - Matthew Scharenberg
2012 - Jackson Macrae
2011 - ChadWingard
I'm not sure any of those are clearly better than Rachele, even 40ish game Rachele. You could debate a couple of them (Wingard, Macrae) and it's...
...ridiculous like $12.00 against Hawthorn in late 2015.
That was the night the Gray brothers combined for an evenly split 68 disposals, Jake Neade kicked two goals from 14 disposals, and Brendon Ah Chee had 25 disposals and one goal. Jay Schulz and ChadWingard also combined for seven goals.
...team to be named before the first bounce on Sunday) (bold means Hawthorn listed players):

The absence of Brendon Lade from this list, and mentions, is triggering me. Could easily be listed 4th if you stack his achievements and contributions against everyone you have discussed here
No, I'm a big Shaun.
1. Warren Tredrea
2. Robbie Gray
3. Gavin Wanganeen
4. Chad Cornes
5. Shaun Burgoyne
6. ChadWingard
7. Matthew Primus
8. Travis Boak
9. Connor Rozee
10 Zak Butters
The Top 4 is set in stone for the time being.
The next 3 I feel I could juggle around.
8 to 12 is a bit more...
On Wingard, quite stiff considering his form backend of 2021 was elite. Played a role in 2022 but mainly before his Achilles snap in 2023 he was electric. He’ll come back in a couple weeks and will be a huge addition to a young hawthorn side. Provides leadership and oozes class still.
Guelfi didn't really play forward until the second half of 2022. He was used as a jack of all trades. He's a handy depth player at worst, really. Since moving forward he's about a goal a game, but keeps getting injured.
