Reasonable point to raise, but I'd be hoping that anyone with ties to Wanganeen would be putting their hand up and saying "let me have a crack at him today". Not that Wanganeen is the huge threat he's often made out to be, but blanketing him could do wonders for Eddie, as well as knowing he's...
If this has become your new approach to life, I don't look forward to seeing you fork out five bucks for a cup of draught, and pour it straight into the urinal.
How many wins/losses in H&A?
13-9 would be a good result
Top 5 in the B&F?
1. Grant
2. Wells
3. Thompson
4. Harvey
5. Harris
Top 3 most likely to gain All Australian selection?
1. Grant
2. Wells
3. Harvey
Top 3 most likely to win Norwich Rising Star?
1. Smith...
This is actually my fault.
Got to Friday's game early in the third quarter, said to my mate "JWS will win the rising star... GET ON IT".
Sorry Jesse and all NMFC supporters. Talk about putting the mozz on a bloke.
At this stage it might just be speculation... the mayor of the Gold Coast putting in a showing of interest, and the club not refusing it outright.
The things that worry me in that regard, are Ron Clarke's comment that "we don't care who plays here" and the club's non-commital stance.
Seems...
Let's not get carried away. They were missing a few players too, and given the gap between their top ruckman King and their second stringers in Mooney and Blake, I think a lot of ther impetus lies there. I was happy with the game but I think Geelong fans would have been content too, givne that...
Venue and opponent are usually pre-determined... entry is usually around $12-14 I think. Might even have beer in cans with a bit of luck. Prefer the country venues for praccys myself for that very reason...
I counted 19 steps... ya gotta laugh. It was like Shane Warne's absolute disgust every time he gets turned down for an appeal that would have turned past a second set of stumps.
True, we need a bigger midfielder if not JUST to cause potential mismatches, but his disposal and decision making were a bit iffy at times last night. Won't read too much into it as he wouldn't have played as a frontline midfielder at that level before and will still be adjusting to the pace...
Looks like he started on Kingsley which isn't an ideal match, but Kingsley didn't do all that much and the Cats looked better once he went off - they were less predictable. For Gibson to be playing on the sole focal point, I think he did OK in the first half at least.
Something I noticed also...
Wells isn't self-centred enough. When you're that good, you can be. Prime example is the game vs Snorethorn where he danced up the wing and HFF and instead of having a shot at goal centred it. I think it was Hale who went off after getting crucnhed under a hospital ball. Wells could have easily...
I just couldn't get over how much Smith has bulked up and has gone from kid to adult, and is starting to play like it. Now he's looking like the top 5 prospect he was touted as, before being drafted. Gun.
PS - I reckon we had 10-11 of our best 22 out. At a guess I'd say Geelong had about 8 or 9, and lost Kingsley after the main break. Hardly saw Rooke at all so assume he had very limited gametime. And based on King's importance he almost counts for two. We might have had the slightly weaker side...
Some would argue the game wasn't taken seriously with Grant, Harvey, Simpson, Hay, Petrie, Wells, Archer, Thompson, Corey Jones, Sinclair etc not playing.... but I think we took it very seriously but with a different focus. I don't think even one of the kids on display disappointed today...
We were abducted by aliens while on a pub crawl. I managed to escape but de Jackal will eventually get used to their anal probes. I still suspect that one of the aliens is actually NorthBhoy in a Shane Clayton costume. Amazing what a bit of lipstick will do.
I think the boys did what they had to do. Said to a matre at half time that even though it was 50-14 on the scoreboard, it wasn't a hiding in general play. Not a great game, but both sides rested a lot of players. Maybe it's just me, but I think our depth is pretty good... not a huge amount of...
I thought Wells oozed class on the rare occasions he go it. Fair to say he looked bored, but at the same time he did what he had to do.
I liked the look of Lower, who got his hands on it a bit and generally did pretty well. I agree with yoyur assessment on Harro being very good and Brady...
If removing the grandstand ruins the view, does this not mean the grandstand is part of the view? What kind of sick f**ks enjoy looking at a derelict rat-infested fire hazard, IN THE WAY of their view to the bay and the bridge? Get them to look out from the "on the hill" windows and have a...
It was vintage Carey that day at Moorabbin. I think he might have even been rested for the last quarter and a bit, but I'm sure he kicked at least 6 or 7 goals. Kelli Stevens wasn't the only one that copped it from the King that weekend.
It was a $2 million difference ($7m compared to $9m) between demolition and restoration, wasn't it? I bet if the council raised rates to cover the $2 million extra that these residents demand should be spent, these same residents would be the first to complain. Sounds like good practice for the...
I recall reading somehwere that athletes and other super-fit people generally have more female offspring. This was explained, but I was probably too drunk to decode it all.
Maybe our best hope for a father-son in future rests with David Calthorpe or Fridge Roberts, or if someone can help me...
I saw Arch have a puff at the players BBQ a few weeks ago. This didn't disturb me too much, but when he stubbed it out in the eye of a orphaned mutant dwarf child from Somalia it made me so angry I just had to write a letter to the Herald-Sun. The child collapsed in pain, and fell to the ground...
Things are rarely organised, from personal experience, but if you head to the social club before/after a game, you'll bump into someone you know. All it takes is to organise a meet up with one person, and pretty soon you'll know 50.
Agree mostly with these bits. Since moving back closer to the city, my opinion on this sort of stuff has changed a bit from a selfish perspective. I don't mind the idea as much now, as I would have a year ago when I lived out in the sticks.
I think the club would need to examine its database...
