I always try and give cyclists the benefit of the doubt on doping as it's not fair without the evidence but the doubts on this one are hard to shake.
The 30 point deduction was way to harsh. He should have been sent to the back for the finish and that was it and lose his points for the finish...
And there you have it. 25 in the break including Gerrans but some are there for the sprinters. Now if he can still be there over the HC climb, he's a chance.
Watch for Basso to try and pull something super human out of the bag tonight. Time is running out for him and he may think about doing it on home roads.
Someone is going to test Andy Schleck again and if he looks like faltering the pace will again heat up.
Love the post stage interview with Cav Were not getting any help with the chase because no other teams have faith in their sprinters... the cheek, so true but the cheek.
They boxed Cav in last night but Eisel and Renshaw were guns at directing him through traffic and than Renshaw ramped him...
It's a pyrenees stage. What are the roads like on the decent?. If the peloton does not reform and the riders are two's and three's over the climb a GC rider may get left behind. it's also a stage not dissimilar to Armstong taking on Ulrich over a mountain than fighting it out on the decent...
And all get sacked at the end of the race.
They have the jobs to do and O'Grady and Porte have jobs that actively involve them contributing to Evans getting beaten.
The year Sastre beat Evans O'Grady was sensational riding point for Saxo Bank, controlled the race tempo superbly. Evans didn't...
Anyone want to pick the stage where Simon Gerrans is going to give it his yearly crack at a break away victory.
He does like to get in a successful breakaway and with Wiggens out Sky need a good news story and he's going to be let off the leash soon one would think. Unless Sky decide they are...
There are people who watch this for the culture and scenery updates, no joke.
I'm with you, cant stand the cooking crap on this but must remember there are other people meeting another entirely demographic altogether watching.
If the winds allow the pelotans going to have a shot at splitting. Cadels smart enough to avoid any trouble but is Cavendish if he's taking the easy pill when it happens?
Good work from Evans. Contador tried to gain a few seconds back and fired a shot. Evans didnt let him and took the stage, and Contador went into the red it appears from my spot on the couch, used up some energy for naught:thumbsu:.
Wasn't that dramatic for someone who should be contending the green at this stage. Particularly as he took a kick to the points last night and wont feature in the finish tonight
Not at all.
Columbia shouldn't have to do all the work on the front. Cavendish is green. If Husholvd or Farrar want to challenge for the points there teams should be pulling the breaks back.
Once there is a green jersey holder Cavendish or Boonen probably the sprint teams who don't hold it will need to assist Saxobank on the flat stages to bring back breaks to get points back or Saxo Bank may not overextend themselves in their defence of the yellow.
Yeah.
I think it was Tour of California last time I was in here.
Didn't see as much of the Italia as I should have.
Rogers will be top 10 if he finishes but I'm worried about Cadel in the Andorra stage finish.
Hope your well.
With Roosters Girl Cancellara will win this.
So which doped rider will be shitting their pants about being caught and crash out at the start this year?
ps do we have someone modding cycling this year.
Wow, haven't had time to post much here lately.
U Bolt, Roosters girl and Black Cat, it used to be about 5 of us talking during the tour, this year it looks a big contingent.
Boonen won't ride imo, ASO too strong to overrule.
But Roostergirl, as unpopular as one name has been from a couple of years ago the call on a Spaniard was spot on the money.
But from here on I'll behave. I'd hate be exiled to Luxembourg for such an offence.
Yes he is but he made choice to race in German colors.
Renshaw got second in the sprint behind Haussler.
Haussler, Chavanel and Renshaw are putting themselves into contention for the points side of the race
Well this board seems a little hung up on talking drugs and ignoring the races themselves so I will see how the Paris - Nice thread runs.
Contador took the prolougue last night 7 seconds in front of Bradley Wiggins and 14 seconds in front of David Millar who has been talking himself up as...
If you like coincidences though I have a good one about West Coast. A fitness coach they had in the early-mid 90s Called Matt Barber.
He also coached WA sprinter Dean Capobianco, if anyone doesn’t remember him look him up. Barber was a national shot put champion himself.
