I bumped the difficulty down to rookie in my be a pro mode and it's ridiculously easy. I'm scoring 3-5 a game.

I'm a complete hockey noob, I got this game and have no idea how to score. Any tips. Where should I be shooting from? Also defensively what's the safest way to defend? The soundtrack isn't bad Against Me!, Dropkick Murphys are awesome and Billy Idol and Black Sabbath are good too.
