Booing former players is part and parcel of the game....whether they leave on great terms or not, whether they played 100+ games at a good level or not. Its just ironical booing. Who cares.
Re: Essendon V Port (7/04) - Ins, Outs & all other pre-match discussion
We actually have one which is a positive on last year :thumbsu:
The biggest improvement Port will see in 2012 will be fitness. We actually look AFL standard fit this year. Last year we were probably the least fit...
Re: Essendon V Port (7/04) - Ins, Outs & all other pre-match discussion
I think people are just happy we won. Last year, with the opposition kicking 3 goals in 3 minutes on the half time siren, we would have come out after half time and lost by 7-8 goals. Maybe more.
'dog act' must be the most overused term in football. He didnt punch him, kick him, stomp on his face nor teabag or turkey slap him when he was motionless on the ground. Getting in his face was a bit odd but the coathanger wasnt intentional. Whether he gets points/weeks...he might do...
Agree. His form in mid 2001...I reckon he was the best player in the land at that point. He had an unstoppable 4 or 5 weeks there.
Always admired how he went about his footy. One of my all time favourite players.
Dunno. It could be the best thing ever for him or it could do nothing for him. hes thats sorta player. Id suspect he'd have a great first year then drop off into contentness and do nothing.
We all wanted Cain to make it...his size and build are impressive features as well as his pace off...
pfftt. He wishes. Hes only saying that to try and get a second chance. Injury didnt hold him back. Its the fact he played maybe 2 good games in 3 years before halfway thru this year. To his credit when played as our only ruckmen he performed well.
Most people seem to think he is a viable...
