Considering the awful few years we've had the morale of the playing group seems to be really healthy. From what I can gather it seems like Daisy contributes in a big way around the club, a good character you want around all the younger players.
He's an important person to have around the club...
He was definitely not right earlier this year, but he looks a lot better since coming back. I'm confident he'll be a very fine player for a long time.
Does everyone remember how hopeless Rance was early in his career? Not saying Weiters will be as good as Rance, but a key defender in his third...
Confidence is shot. At least if we had support around him and were playing well you could get him some easy touches and build up his confidence... with the way we're playing I'm not sure what we can do.
I think he's worth persisting with, especially with Marchbank out.
Under no circumstances should we accept a deal for anything over pick 18. We need talent not a second round pick and a fringe hack player, we have enough of those already and its clear Richmond won't part with any decent players.
If Richmond are unreasonable about it I'd rather us enforce...
It's amazing how much Bell improved this year, if he improved at the same rate next season he would be a top tier mid. He's strong, quick and finds the goals. Obviously needs to work a little on his decision making, but tbh I thought that was more his issue in 2014, this season he made big...
So what does it take to swap Aish and Bell, as much as we'd want a straight swap Aish is worth more than Bell. Maybe they will feel nice for getting Robbo for nothing ;)
* that is a cop out message from Yarran, what a load of s**t. Self entitled twat.
I will be livid if Richmond try and bend us over again in another Grigg type trade scenario, if they won't come to the party I'd rather see us hold on to him and not play him than let him go for peanuts. I'm...
Even though it will be better for the club long term by gaining pick 2, seeing Kreuz line up for any other club will be heart breaking. Has the same Josh Kennedy / Eddie Betts feeling to it.
Absolutely agree with that. After our team cohesiveness was looking so positive in the second half of last season something has gone horribly wrong this year.
I feel as if Yarran is the player we need to be get back on track, he's a good guy who has obviously had his off field issues this year...
So with all this talk of Yarran leaving, what's the likelihood of keeping him at the club? When rated on what we know he is capable of he is worth so much more than anything other clubs will offer us.
He's in that mid twenties age bracket where we really lack quality players. We've got some...
ha, the prescient biased fan ;)
And Hogan will be the next Carey... it's looking like it will be he and Jeremy Cameron duelling as the best forwards. We all know how good Cripps is looking like becoming, just like everybody knows how good Hogan should be. Reading the thread on the main board is...
Do we? Hogan looks set to be the premier forward in the comp. I'd be very annoyed if Cripps loses to Hogan as he has had a better year in my opinion, but over their careers... nobody can predict the future. Both are shaping up to be in the top few players of the next decade.
Great to hear he's getting back to it, saw Cameron swimming a bit at the local pool over Summer... assuming that's all he could really do. I really hope we hold on to him at the end of the year, he has a lot of talent and has had a lot of bad luck.
Essendon did pretty well without a ruck last night :p
Agreed, Kruezer is irreplaceable. Sadly his body hasn't allowed him to play at his best for quite some time, I'm not relying on him and if he does come good it will be a massive bonus for us.
I probably didn't explain it well enough, the most exciting in terms of need for the team, those mentioned are all exciting for different reasons. The way the game has been trending with midfield size, we've been left horribly exposed by drafting undersized flanker types. Apart from Bell who is...
He broke is leg in 2012, grew about 20 cm in the last twelve months and by all reports was out on his feet at qtr time on the weekend. It's a great sign that he worked through it on the weekend, but it also says to me that he isn't quite ready for AFL level.
More than happy to be proven wrong...
He has come from a pretty low fitness base compared to other draftees.
Don't forget there's a big difference between VFL and AFL, especially with the way our team is having to chase at the moment. I'd rather we give him another couple of solid hitouts in the reserves.
Sounds like Cripps is having a good game.
Exciting to finally see some youth coming through: Holman, Cripps, Docherty, Temay and Graham - Some decent midfield depth there
Absolutely, the one that stood out for me was spill out the back of a pack with a quick hack outside of defensive 50 with quite a few metres between him and the nearest opponent...went straight to opposition to be rebounded back. I'd put that down to not being use to the tempo of the top level...
I think we're overstating his 'bad' disposal. From what I've seen it's more the decision or sometimes panicking under pressure that results in a turnover, he'll improve with continuity at the top level just like McLean did last season. He provides a lot of run and he's very effective, always...
