Nearly every time I watch this team play I find myself thinking there really is a lot to work with here. Certainly some missing pieces and needs polish (a lot some weeks) but there is a lot here.

I mean - those early fines were largely suspended as I recall. You also can't just compare the size of the fines in isolation (har har) given that they are only one component of the punishment on this occasion. What price do you put on a 10 game suspension?
