Nice write up Mike... Hard to predict matchups before teams are name... but I be think Kolo for Stringer is a key one , and also does Bews stay in. Stringer has similar qualities to GA Sr although not quite to that level , a very dangerous player and could break the game open in a 5-10...

All three have shown enough to be in there somewhere..when play well. Langs form has been a bit up and down..but to be expected 21 yo and 33 games. Langs probably not as physical as Linc but probably a smarter player. Lang really knocked them up in the VFL on Sat so he may be back very soon.

What you say is true. We have LincMc , Gregson and Lang although the last two are probably long term mids. I like his toughness but Linc is not lacking in that as well.

On Linc... one issue is he currently be best 22 for us . Im not sure id see the advantage to that swap.

Been tried down back , is not defensive minded. If someone could teach that to him they would pick a bargain probably be a match winner with his talents in that role. He can mark over head , not timid or shy... but for such a quick player , I'm not sure he has a huge spring.

Id say the only way a deal like that would be entertained would be if Geelong had the ability to get another big dollar player and the needed to clear cap space. Id suspect that Honeychurch wouldn't be on much so that would probably be the only logic I could see in going that way.

His tastes have not adapted with game style... so many around the ball with so many big bodied high endurance athletes.. the outside kids that standout at a step down can struggle in AFL.

Everyone wants R1's... and its a good player two of them.. Im sure you are aware..Geelong are usually reasonable to deal with.. Playing to his potential he'd be worth a R1... but he hasn't played to that for some time..and he has a injury history. Some sort of pickup grade would be nice...

Same sort of pedigree as Tom Ruggles and Scott Thompson... having come from the GFL melting pot. South Barwon player where Scarlett went post AFL , perhaps he has played a role in getting him to Geelong. Not sure he has the upper range to make it but I also thought the same about Ruggles last year.

Yes the recruitment by the new clubs can be irritating , and certainly not equally spread. The Dogs have paid a cost for sure. Geelong not interested...highly doubt that. Yes we will be looking at FA's , as most know but that should not limit our recruitment of others. Next years draft is heavy...

Two years ago , id say pas the pen. Now I say mehhh. P26 mean 2 years min of development put into a 50/50 pick at best. Lonergan may well play 40 games int he next two years. A guy picked at 26 may never play 40, then again he could become a champ.
