  1. Harlequin Dream

Traded #30: Brandon Zerk-Thatcher - 🚨 traded to the Pear, thanks for your service

Zerk has good decision making without the ball. Makes a decision and attacks it with his whole heart. Doesn't get caught in no man's land often. I like to think Rance helped him in that.
  2. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #39: Pat Voss - Stiff Armed by Essendon on Oct 25. Refer to #556

His athleticism and physicality compliments the small forwards. Creates the chaos that brings them into the game.
  3. Harlequin Dream

    Delisted #38: Rhett Montgomerie - Not offered a contract for 2024 - 28/8

Yeah, it is a very busy position right now. I think we have painted ourselves into a corner in terms of finding players for our needs. Clubs are very hesitant to take specialist inside mids late because they want to reserve CBAs for players that are either elite mids or players that could...
  4. Harlequin Dream

    Delisted #38: Rhett Montgomerie - Not offered a contract for 2024 - 28/8

If our recruiting team is good at anything, it is picking mature age players. Going for another shouldn't shock or sadden anyone.
  5. Harlequin Dream

Coaching Staff Former Coach Ben "Truck" Rutten - Sacked for real this time - 21/8

Who's making the call right now?
  6. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #49: Tom Hird - Delisted, thank you for your service - 23/8

Imagine having Voss, Hird, Wanganeen and both Davey brothers in the same team. Would be a crazy mid-2000s team sheet.
  7. Harlequin Dream

Retired #43: Anthony "Walla" McDonald-Tipungwuti - Will play his last game this weekend - 24/8

I feel very sad for him but I am happy that he made the right decision for himself. We will miss you.
  8. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #36: Garrett McDonagh - Delisted, thank you for your service - 23/8

Low risk, medium reward move. If it comes off we have another good ball user who costs us very little in terms of picks or development time.
  9. Harlequin Dream

Retired #26: Cale Hooker - Has announced his retirement at season's end 🍷

If we see success in the near future, he will be a major reason why. His loyalty and leadership were crucial in the crisis.
  10. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #28: Ned Cahill - Not offered a new contract, thanks Ned! - 13/8

Why does the title mention 28 possessions when he had 23?
  11. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #11: Will "Meatball" Snelling - Delisted 25/10

The forums are more level headed than Facebook and Twitter on him.
  12. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #11: Will "Meatball" Snelling - Delisted 25/10

It was his 25th game yesterday. He is still a developing player but there were many who had zero patience with him.
  13. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #47: Henry Crauford - Not offered a contract for 2021 (confirmed)

Crauford is back with Norwood. With the retirement of Baulderstone he will be the number 1 ruck. Interested to see how he goes.
  14. Harlequin Dream

Traded #13: Orazio Fantasia - Off to Carlton as a delisted free agent, scored a 2 year deal?

It has a good chance to pay off for all parties. I am happy with it.
  15. Harlequin Dream

Traded #42: Adam Saad - Traded to Carlton for pick 8 (with some junk picks)

The only players I could bank on to perform this year were: Ridley McGrath Merrett Saad maybe Langford. That's it. If we want to turn the corner into a consistent football club we have to sign our consistent core of players. Saad is a must sign.
  16. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #19: Kobe Mutch - Not offered a contract for 2021

I find his development strategy to be quite bizarre. His attributes have always seemed to be center square or bust. I really find our desire to play him on the wing to be strange given his lack of pace. Inside mid suits his dual-sided disposal and his frame so much better.
  17. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #47: Henry Crauford - Not offered a contract for 2021 (confirmed)

Every week it becomes more and more obvious that all he needs is a little bit more physical development and experience to be a real weapon for us. He has all the raw tools.
  18. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #28: Ned Cahill - Not offered a new contract, thanks Ned! - 13/8

Ned is a very good player. Fair bit of role overlap with Smith and Snelling though.
  19. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #32: Noah Gown - Not offered a contract for 2021

That is one of the good aspects of the pick. He is not a player who is going to sit on the list for 5 years as he adds 20kg to his frame. Good weight now with a little room to grow, should make it over the 100kg mark.
  20. Harlequin Dream

Delisted #32: Noah Gown - Not offered a contract for 2021

I am so happy!! Over the moon with this pick.
  21. Harlequin Dream

Traded #10: Aaron Francis - Traded to Sydney w. Pick 42 + Future fourth rounder for Pick 37. Thanks Frang!

The problem with the article isn't the broad point of Francis' fitness holding him back. It was the hyperbole that insinuated that he was years off and virtually a non-athlete. Which is especially inappropriate in the context of Aaron's mental health leave.
  22. Harlequin Dream

Retired # 5: Devon Smith - Hanging up the boots - Thanks for everything Devon! - 12/8

I think that is true. However, I wonder if the club believes that having enough clean players mitigates the weakness a little. Worsfold was very quick to point out (late in the year) that we have fewer stoppages than most teams in our games.
  23. Harlequin Dream

Retired # 5: Devon Smith - Hanging up the boots - Thanks for everything Devon! - 12/8

Fantasia said he wanted to do more midfield work too
  24. Harlequin Dream

Retired # 5: Devon Smith - Hanging up the boots - Thanks for everything Devon! - 12/8

These are our key midfielders heading forward: Heppell Merrett Zaharakis Parish McGrath Smith Feels good.
  25. Harlequin Dream

Retired #26: Cale Hooker - Has announced his retirement at season's end 🍷

Season goalkickers: 5th: Walker 49 goals ... 14th: Hooker 41 goals He is only 8 goals out of the top 5 in the league. It shows how hard it is to kick a bag in this league when only a half-dozen players will end up breaking 50 goals. He has had a very good year from a less than ideal start.
