If i had cables i absolutely would.
I think it would go
Crushers, Dips, O/Heads, Kickbacks for the non cable exercises in terms of maximum bang for buck with the tris.
This. Home gym so no cables for me, i do overhead and kickbacks with a dumbbell and its one of the few exercises (IMO dont @ me) where you get pretty much no benefit in terms of output by using free weights, you can feel its using a stack of other muscles and reducing the isolation.
Also, home...
I think i know what your talking about but i cant say ive ever seen someone do it with a wide chin up grip. Usually in those racks they have the tricep dip bars and thats what most people hold.
I had a little procedure last week which meant a week off exercise.
I put on about 3kgs in a week but looking at myself in the mirror it looks absolutely assured it’s muscle and not fat. My abs and shoulders are visibly more defined.
I usually get a little swole with a rest (muscle growth in...
Because most of my training is circuit based my HR is usually up the whole time anyway but 30 minutes will normally burn between 300-350 calories. Which from memory is like half a mcchicken burger on its own (eg not much at all)
Ironically you burn WAY more calories from just living an active lifestyle than you do from gymming as well (at least most people do).
So people can and do lose weight eating maccas and not specifically exercising.
My current training is all about maximizing time efficiency.
So its all circuits, free weight work, keeping HR up. 5-7 minute circuit, 4-6 sets depending on the time ive got.
Its probably the most functionally fit ive ever been tbh.
If i have longer it extend the circuit with more stations...
So ive got 3 kids (toddler and twin newborns).
You have "time" i always make time for gym/training mostly because if i dont im a worse father and husband.
Im sure there are probably people who genuinely dont have the time but mostly its because you are prioritizing something else. To be clear...
That feels less like a goal than a broad outcome of living healthy.
I take your point though. I more meant no direct goal, im not aiming to run a marathon or improve my 3km time trial etc or max bench etc.
I don’t really have any anymore. I worked very hard for many years being sport soecific focused. I just enjoy getting into the gym and going for the odd bike ride it run now.
I like looking good and feeling fit and healthy but at 36 (37 next month) with 3 small kids I’m very happy to just...
Yeh I often enjoy going out with no watch or timer and just going on feel. Having some metrics to track the rehab (and see how pain goes if I push pace etc) is important for now though.
The run has extended to 1.5kms and pace is back under 5.30 for that. Added some extra sets to the stair work now too.
All coming together albeit slowly
I have about 12 pairs of extremely similar (or the same) black shorts and socks. I also have a handful of the same tees and shirts cause they fit nicely
To be fair sometimes it can come on out of nowhere. You think youve got 6 x 80 or 100 in you, always do, then just cant get that last rep, or get a twinge or whatever.
The dump is a last resort but id rather have it just in case.
Are there though? Ive actually never seen a single person dump the plates in a gym in my life and i would average 3-4 days a week for close to 20 years.
Im closing the collar no collar debate, if youre benching on your own no collars is just the smarter option, as far as im concerned that non...
Youre only dumping the weight in an emergency. Suggesting you collar up because youre gonna get in an emergency then dump onto people around you is dumb, of course in that instance youre gonna ask for help collared or not.
Its just a stupid reason.
