The MCG Trust doesnt pay the AFL $2 per patron to play there. There are payments that are made based on the AFL reaching attendance goals of between $1.50 - $3.00 per patron depending on how much over the minimum 2.15m the AFL gets there per year.
The AFL pays more than 5 million a year for the...
2015 Gold Coast Annual Report has been uploaded to here.
2 million more in AFL funding than last year, corresponding increase in employee expenses, but a similar amount was also apparently spent on Metricon infrastructure.
Its not unsual for local teams to request the support of locals. The Titans are in a rugby league stronghold, its just perhaps not one that favours the Titans as much as it could.
they want local gold coast folks to back the Gold Coast Titans regardless of who their first team is or what code. In much the same way that there are folks in Adelaide who follow Adelaide United as well as the Crows/Port/Strikers.
that...makes a little sense I guess. Does Central Coast have enough money for that though? and Would the NRL allow Gold Coast to lose several weeks a year every year?
I dont think theres a chance in hell that a new Gold Coast T20 side would be based off an existing local cricket side. It would be a new Franchise, owned by QLD Cricket or a joint QLD Cricket/Private partnership. Regardless, summer sport on the Gold Coast would be great for the Suns bottom line.
it did cost the league 20 million in advance though, but over the 20 year lease should be worth its weight.
Stadiums Queensland would flip out if the Titans tried to move to Carrara though - and they would have the ultimate say. I dont see it happening. The only way i think this could have...
Someone is exaggerating. they are down, but not massively down, and at least partly due to going ahead while the world cup is on.
Crowds are down less than 8,000 in total on last year - less than 2%
Foxtel ratings are down 1%
FTA Metro ratings are down 6%
You're not pointing out facts at all. Your interpreting the results and claiming accounting facts that are simply wrong. Grants count as revenue, and an operating loss is counted as revenue minus expenses.
Grants count as Revenue. Its basic accounting. Operating loss is revenue minus expenses, as clearly outlined in the Suns annual report. Go troll elsewhere.
Since these accounts are audited by genuine accountants and say otherwise, you'll forgive me if I dont believe you. Further ALL clubs receive a distribution that averaged out to 11 million across the league in 2014 - 8.7 million of that is contractually obliged under the licence agreements the...
Define considerably. A 1.2 million uplift in Membership and ticketing, plus a 800k increase in sponsorship are good signs.
This might help answer most of your questions. The data is almost worthless before 2012.
According to the Clubs reports
2014 - $16,506,277

No they dont. The AFLs contribution to the Suns this year was about 4 million more than similar payouts for melbourne clubs, at most it can be said that the extra investment was just under 8 million (above the base distribution given to all clubs). See table below - it needs more fleshing out...
