Just like Mannagh looked like one of the best cheap priced rookies coming into the season.
It's a bit of a lottery and hindsight is always superior.
FWIW, I still have both (Wilson and Mannagh) from my starting team, plus Coffield, Khamis and Clark. I've turned over the rest of my Rd 1 starters.
I thought Mannagh was significantly better than Clark tonight, but both finished on 57. Both on the bench for me, so I'm not fussed. Just interested in how it panned out.
Edit: Clark scaled up to 60 ...
Fair call, I'd probably do the same but I have them both on field - Wilson as FWD.
FWIW, I'm pretty bullish on Sanders and at this stage I'm looking to hold (and start on field) both him and McKercher until the mid-season byes.
Agree. Perhaps leave Berry on the bench because the disappointment of missing points if he goes large again is offset by the big $ he'll be making you.
Yeah, he did well, but to be a bit cynical, I speculate that he downgraded a premo mid after Rd 0 to chase Heeney's points and got lucky with both Heeney and Sam Berry (the downgrade).
And personally I think he's a trade behind with Naismith as he'll have to get rid of him pretty soon.
Relieved to hear that you think my boys Coffield and Khamis will both stay in. It's the type of SuperCoach straw that I love to clutch at.
On Sanders, he looked really good in the pre-season games and I think the Round 1 nerves just got the better of him. Still had 15 touches in just over a...
An alternative view (based more on facts) is that he was very good until 2022, which got him a ridiculous contract that blew out Collingwood's salary cap, and got traded on the back of that contract disaster. His mistake was choosing the team that needed him least (aka the Braydon Preuss move)...
It's a recommendation to field or bench based on the combination of job security and scoring potential. Reid's assessed low scoring potential has him as a bench option rather than on the field.
Jackson, WBD - injured and doubtful for Rd 1. And now getting to the age where hamstring injuries restrict output.
Finlay, Coll - most Collingwood supporters here don't see him in the best 22.
If it is 40 trades, there must be some strategy that starts with no round 0 players, but getting the right ones in straight after their byes. The trick will be picking players that don't play round 0 and won't be keepers but make the cash early for the upgrades. e.g. G. Wardlaw.
