For mine, Thouy, Smith, Ceglar all retire at seasons end.
Menegola will probably go as FA (if he can get a suitor). Sav might ask for trade - worth R2.
I'd keep all of Parfitt, Kroeger and Simpson.
So, at least 4 out, maybe 5.
Besides TDK, who else comes in? Anyone? Parish would be great...
It might seem unrealistic, but as we love bringing back ex-falcons, is S.Walsh in our thoughts?
Would cost our 1st this year, and 1st next year, but would be massive.
Parish is cheaper, and I would be thrilled to recruit him, but if he stays at Ess , perhaps Sam might like to join the Cats?
My team
Stewart DeK J.Henry
Duncan Kolodjasni Bews
Holmes Blicavs Knevitt
Close Hawkins Miers
Stengle Cameron O.Henry
Stanley Dangerfield C.Guthries
Z.Guthrie, Atkins, Parfitt, Bruhn, Bowes
I see Thouy, Smith, Rohan, Menegola, Ceglar as depth/mentors in 23. All will play in the 1s...
Sorry my quote didn't work! I'm referring to the argument that if we count pre-VFL flags, Cats would have more premierships in comparison to the other clubs in the AFL.
I don't quite understand the rationale for this argument. Does the book suggest that flags won in a different competition (VFA) should count towards the AFL premiership ladder? If the Cats won 6 or so flags in the VFA, why should that count as VFL, or even AFL flags? I'ts a different...
Is there a thread that lists Geelong club record of games per number?
I reckon I know the record for #14, but would be very interested in records for every number we have used in a game - even D.Clarkes 51!
Great thread!
Started watching Cats in 89.
Stewart Scarlett Milburn
Enright Taylor Mackie
Riccardi Bartel Kelly
Rooke Hawkins Ablett Jr
Chapman Ablett Johnson
Ottens G. Hocking Selwood
Ling, Corey, Dangerfield, Duncan
JDG a massive risk. Do not want. Fails character test.
Taranto should be the priority. He's a jet.
Might cost 2 Rd1s, if we can get Bruhn as well in the deal, worth it.
..
What would be our Depth Chart in Ruck?
Stanley
Ceglar
Esava?
Tsap
Conway?
Neale?
SDK?
If both of the top two are injured/unavailable/out of form, who is next in line? I presume Esava.. I would love to see one of the young specialists get some games this yr.
I would have Graham elite as well, particularly from 97 onwards. Stephen O'Reilly was a very handy full back until he left for Freo.
I reckon Mansfield was elite for a while as well on HBF
Apologies if this exists elsewhere, thought you might like to share your team of the 90s.
We had some great players, had lots of success.
Players needed to have played between 1990 and 1999. Selection should be based on performance during those years.
Enjoy.
