They sort of already disrupt the matches, don't they? The umpires often (in live free to air matches) need to wait a few extra seconds for the TV adverts to finish before bouncing the ball after a goal. They cannot do this until they receive the red signal. This is generally only a matter of...
Funniest thread since Hamish Rompingwings was exposed. It's cringeworthy stuff and some of the observations on here are legendary.
I couldn't help to feel a bit sorry for him. At least he's having a crack at his dreams.
What did Tim McGrath mean when he said Paul Chapman was 'not himself all day'; and 'at the time we probably didn't know why' in reference to the day of the Bali bombings and why the Geelong players stayed in the hotel and didn't go out? I can't believe Mike didn't follow up on that?
They don't exist because I suspect it's not financially viable for a national network to run a show about a State league.
The only reason the VFL gets recognition/attention on shows such as Open Mike because it is an extension of the AFL. It's not necessarily because it was a better or more...
Some people on here need to get over the fact that the National Competition spawned (rightly or wrongly) from the VFL. For that reason, the SANFL and WAFL histories get treated unequally (rightly or wrongly) by certain media personalities and, generally, fans in Victoria. I'm sure the SANFL and...
That's gold.
BTW - I love how you omit the 2007 GF winner from your sig. I know you need to draw the line somewhere, but it would make more sense to go with the last five winners... (i.e. 2009 onwards) ;)
I had the subscription this year. It was about $100 for the season including all games, live or replay, including finals. It was great value. I hope they don't jack the price up too much.
It looks like the AFL is charging £64.99 ($100) for the annual subscription for 2013. That seems pretty reasonable if it gets you access to the whole season plus finals.
Has anyone used the service? is it reliable? good quality? etc
The problem seems to be that they (Bruce and Dennis) attempt to entertain the viewer with their personality and showmanship. What they don't realise is that it's not necessary - the visual images are the entertainment and all that we require from the commentators is a factual account of what is...
I see your point. However, I find it odd when they do it in the Victorian press. It's not necessary. No one is confusing football with anything else. Although, I guess it makes sense to streamline the article if they intend to use it in the various papers throughout the country that are owned by...
I have noticed over the past couple of months that the Age is increasingly using the term “AFL” in the heading and body of its articles. I can only speak to the online format, as I reside overseas and do not read the hard copy. But I often see that on some occasions more than 50% of the articles...
Thanks guys. I'll look into it.
I did see that On the Couch's podcasts for this season are still unavailable. Dissapointing stuff.
The rub does not have any podcasts available for this season either, although I assume that they are yet to do a show.
Hey
I am living overseas this season. What's the best radio podcast (football related obviously) to download and where do I get from?
Any recommendations appreciated.
I intend on listening to it on an iPhone.
Cheers
