Correct. The Crows take it or we'll just use the PSD attitude likely hasn't endeared them to many other clubs. Now when the shoe is on the other foot and they have had a player's head turned by a rival, they just expect that other club to pay overs. Seems a tad hypocritical to me.
While he's not a guy who is likely to turn a contender in to a premier, he's definitely one I wouldn't like to lose. Seems like a good team player who will fit in just about any position with minimal fuss. As others have said, defensive minded mid is probably where he does his best work.
Agreed. After what he showed this season I don't know why anyone would be looking at him as a forward. He's been at best a goal and a half a game forward which is handy, but his intercept and rebounding game looked elite though.
No, I understand exactly what you are saying. I'm pointing out it's a load of crap. Pick 4 is equal to pick 4. Any other combo of picks is not pick 4. Points are irrelevant unless you are bidding on a father son or an academy player. Given Melbourne have neither to worry about in this draft...
You do realise I'm not doing the negotiating, right?
Surely West Coast getting him through the PSD would see list managers across the nation balling their hands up in to fists in rage though! I doubt they would take such a chance give your earlier comments about how those sorts of actions are...
Pretty sure it was because Freo wanted more than we either could or were prepared to give up which seems very similar to the situation now with Jackson. Guess that means Bell earned himself a poor reputation for doing that last year and this is all just it coming back to bite him, hey fnerd?
Imagine having the nerve to ask for more! He should deal in good faith like Freo did when Cerra wanted to come to Melbourne. What pick of Melbourne's did Freo get for him again?
Wowee, Freo fans are precious! Every year he's traded fairly and quickly to either accommodate players leaving or bring in players to the club, but sure... he's the problem.
Perhaps he's wanting Peter Bell to include his cap full of feathers in the deal?
I read that aboit the Hogan deal.... it seems to have come from every Dockers favourite media personality Kim Hagdorn. In this thread alone he's been bashed repeatedly and I'm pretty sure someone said the club blacklisted him years ago. He couldn't possibly be telling the truth here due to his...
Yeah, wouldn't have thought so. You're paying $900k plus for a 21 year old and have had to effectively cut a number of best 22 players to fit him in. I sure hope it hurts as good as it did when Freo landed their last great white hope in Hogan.
It also completely ignored another likely scenario where West Coast trade in good faith for Jackson if he was to nominate them. Freo being unaffected if he doesn't end up there is laughable though.
So Freo offering Jackson between $6 an $7 million over 7 years, offering peanuts to best 22 players to fit him in and then missing out on him would leave Freo unaffected?
Pretty sure he's talking about the initial $250k offer. Why else would Logue have looked for another offer if he didn't think you were low balling him with that initial offer?
Why else would you or your management seek out another potential deal? If he was happy as Larry with the first offer, surely he signs it. That it's well under what he would have expected is likely what lead to the whole situation. Call it offended, insulted, pissed off, underwhelmed, angry, a...
A "good offer" that may still be well below what a competitor is willing to pay him? In a job that has a limited lifespan and therefore will require you to plan a career afterwards? It seems entirely rational that you would take the offer with both more money and more opportunity to play in your...
Such a life-altering decision? People get poached to change jobs all the time, especially when your current employer is being about as cheap as possible.
Pick 19 for an out of contract, injury prone player is way overs. Freo clearly showed how little they rated him if their reported first contract offer is accurate. North should look to walk him to the PSD as they don't have a pick in the mid-late second round which is where Logue's value should...
