Yeah fair point, what is the capacity at those stadiums? Is it majority standing or only small sections (from memory Hawks play at a ground with majority seating but North only one side of the ground is seated?)
If it's good enough for North and the Hawks to play 8 games a year at the two current stadiums why is it incumbent on Tassie building a new stadium before the AFL will grant a licence? If it's not up to AFL standard they shouldn't be playing there. If it is, what is the problem? Gil afraid he...
Cheers mate, read through a few pages but couldn't get a clear indication - I thought the AFL had agreed "in principle" but wasn't sure on timelines, conditions etc . Hopefully agreed to soon and can get the ball rolling.
Has a formal decision been made on this or what? If so when are they coming in? Or has it only been tentatively agreed to pending the new stadium before a date is set?
It's pretty stable but I've noticed this year I keep having this issue where it skips back 10 seconds or so every few minutes. Very annoying but usually fixed by restarting the stream. I don't have a terrestrial antenna hooked up anymore so rely on Kayo for all games (GF is generally watched...
No it's not, it is just saying that teams in WA and SA shouldn't get all their games on FTA. Of course Koch head has blown it out of proportion and said they want to remove those teams from FTA completely which is just rubbish.
I think it was still around a 50/50 split which means only 20-23k odd MFC supporters. After a flag I would've hoped we'd be getting at least 30-35k consistently
I wonder whether the demographic of our supporters will have an impact - ageing supporter base more likely to be hesitant due to covid as well as the electronic ticketing? I guess we'll get a real indication in a couple of weeks when we play GWS on a Saturday night but the crowd against the...
Was also bucketing down half an hour before game time wasn't it? Pretty crappy weather up that way for a few weeks would've deterred plenty but it also seems a large portion of the crowd were supporting the Demons.
To get less than 30k when you spruik 100k members is underwhelming. Beautiful day, first home game, recent success with multiple flags. One middling season and a loss to Carlton and the bandwagoners jump off already?
You do know that correlation does not equal causation yeah? The tv rights have been increasing deal on deal since 1988. The tv stations don't give a stuff about 40k people watching a game on a secondary channel.
Of course, but there's a reason there are limits/bans on certain types of advertising. Cigarette advertising. There are limits on fast food advertising during children's programs. Gambling advertising is not so much the problem it's the way it has fused itself to become part of the game itself...
I don't really understand this though, wouldn't they just bet in person or get proxies to do it for them if they are too well known? Or even have proxy accounts setup for online betting? Surely there's ways around it
