Perhaps, but I'd much rather pay the poor mans price and get McKernan, like we did, than pay the rich mans price like Hawthorn did, and end up with Vickery.

I'd say he needs to be shown he is fighting for his career to get out what he is capable of, but that has happened a few times now. We will either finally see it click, or we will have another year of hoping he somehow gets it right, but being ultimately disappointed.

What attributes is he lacking? I have seen very little of him, and the few things I have seen or heard made me focus on his strengths rather than weaknesses.
