Yeah I think the quality is still really high on their recent albums but they set such a high bar.
I was a bit disappointed in having to miss their first night as they played a mix of everything. The Sunday show they played High Violet in full and some deep cuts. Was still incredible though...
I first found out about them with their Boxer album. Still one of the best I’ve heard. Their first two albums are pretty mediocre (some great songs though) but they just kept going to new levels after that. They have received alot of notoriety through some collaborations with Taylor Swift with...
Yeah man they are one of my fave bands. Had tix when they were supposed to come back in 2021 but had to cancel due to covid.
My flight leaves at 5pm on Sunday so I am hoping I can get to Kings Park by 8!
I’ll definitely check them out now!
I’m spewing. I have to work in port hedland (not even a FIFO worker) even though I bought tix to both shows. Praying for a pilot strike or bad weather so I can stay home.
Saw Queens of the Stone Age on the weekend. Put on a great show at Red Hill but hadn’t listened much to the last two albums so didn’t know as much.
Just scored two suite tix to Matchbox 20 and Goo Goo Dolls tonight.
Most of the time it’s for their latest album. I don’t think they owe anyone to play what they want.
The National will probably play a bit from their latest two albums so some classics will have to get nudged.
Probably something people don’t realise is bands, unless you are Fleetwood Mac for example, are going to tour their latest album so it will skewed towards that plus trying to fit in a mix of songs from previous album. They expect them to play all their hits.
Yeah I’d say that was the case. People from Perth are like that. I think alot of parents would maybe have taken their kids too.
Don’t blame her about the metal! 😉
I’d gather she enjoyed the older stuff because you’ve listened to it just like I did with my dad.
I like their older stuff but yeah it was a phenomenal gig!
Was a very young crowd in my opinion. I do wonder how many actually really liked their stuff and have only heard their recent offerings.
Coldplay last night. One of the best spectacles I’ve ever seen. Everyone was given a wristband on entry and they used it to make a light show that was epic. I’d highly recommend going purely for that aspect alone. There was a lot they didn’t play from their catalog and it was tailored towards...
It’s not even just the younger generation doing it. There’s people 50+ years of age filming whole songs/concerts. A dude in front of me for Arctic Monkeys a whilst ago filmed the whole bloody thing!
At Bloc Party last weekend, a guy got to the front and proceeded to film the whole gig.
I...
Hollow coves this Friday
Coldplay and Bloc Party November
Spoon & War on drugs December
Ryan Adam’s March (although think he cancelled from memory)
The National & Fleet Foxes March
Yeah, I still enjoy the first and think it's great. I reckon they could have combined the two and made one fantastic album though.
Can't wait for the tour though. Was so upset when they canceled due to COVID especially as Phoebe Bridgers was supporting too.
Spoon have been around for longer too! Seen them once before and it was such a tight show.
I feel like it will be a pretty chilled vibe though especially at Kings Park.
First time to a festival for a while. It’s crazy how expensive it is now. You used to pay 120$ for 10 amazing international acts at least and now you get three.
Holy s**t that was horrendous. Like wtf was he actually thinking? Didn’t his band mates say how s**t his voice was? He couldn’t even hit most of those parts!
Also agreed on Punisher
I’ve found festivals these days severely lacking in international artists that make the cost worthwhile. It’s like two headliners and the rest are Aussie.
