I'm enjoying the second series more than the first - which I did enjoy, but had come to the conclusion that Adnan did it with a few episodes to go. Likewise in the Bergdahl case, he deserted, and has said as much, its just getting down to nitty griity of why he did that, and to do that, there...

    Movie Dad's Army film

Having just watched "We're doomed, the dad's army story", its a pity they didn't get John Sessions to do Mainwarring, he did a superb Arthur Lowe in what was a surprisingly good docudrama.

I'm expecting a big finale. In Season 1, Lou references Sioux Falls "“I’d tell you the details, but it would sound like I made ’em up. Madness, really….If you stacked the [bodies] high you could a climbed to the second floor. I saw something that year I ain’t never seen, before or since. I’d...

I ike season 2, but season 1 had stronger characters and a stronger story arc. And as for plot holes, with 30 or so murders including a judge, you would think that ever the stingiest over stretched police force would put than two cops on the case, one of whom has to mix that up with other duties...

    FTA-TV Fargo

While I think this series as a whole is better scripted and really very good, last season had better highlights. If you look at Malvo compared to Mike Milligan and The Kitchen brothers, well Malvo was this nice guy, who was a real psychopath who knew no limits. The Kitchen brothers are comedy...

When you are facing death, you do anything, that's basic human nature - especially considering the others weren't actually holding guns and it was dark. May have had only 1% chance of getting away, but 1% is a huge difference from 0% when it comes to dying. But other than that quibble, thought...

FTA-TV Which TV shows are you watching now.

Talking of shows which are great, but obscure here, check out The Detectorists - MacKenzie Crook's show based around a metal detectors club. Not the most promising of concepts, but really hits the mark, helped along with a great performance from Toby Jones. Won the bafta for best sitcom, but...

Newish, two series down so far. The burglar episode and twelve days of Christnie episodes were the highlights, both getting 9+ ratings at IMDB. Have just finished 'Over The Garden Wall' on Cartoon Network, which was dark, atmospheric and great, and that's a rock fact!

Just finished the second series of 'Inside no 9.' Was never a fan of League of Gentlemen or Pyschoville, but this anthology series for the most part has been brilliant

It is good, but I can see why Armando Iannucci has annonced he is leaving the show. If it was under his wishes, Meyer would crash and burn so badly that should would be picking up trash by the end of the series., Instead it looks as though HBO have adopted a holding pattern to keep the show...

Movie 87th Academy Awards - February 23 2015 (Australian time)

Yeah, but you dont work in the film industry. That's 3 of the last 4 Oscar winners being some story about actors. Any ok film that doesn't stink to high heaven and talks about Hollywood's favourite subject, 'Hollywood', is a shoe-in.

    Streaming [HBO] True Detective

I think I would have given Fargo the nod, but both were excellent series. The ending in both was ok, but not great. Endings rarely are though as producers push and writers feel that everything should be tied up in neat little bows and everything explained. Life isn't like that though and I wish...

    I don't get M*A*S*H*

And that was where it was flawed, the psychology aspect of it, especially the episodes where Hawkeye opens himself up to a psychiatrist I found particularly laboured and tedious, but perhaps that was just me growing up in a household with a psychiatrist for a dad. What you say about the...

    I don't get M*A*S*H*

Don't know about the book, but the movie was a big hit and the tv series was a spin off of that. The early series of M*A*S*H were great and generally pretty funny as it followed traditional tropes. But as the series progressed, the joker Trapper John was replaced by the dour BJ Hunnicut, the...

I'd like to have a local cinema. Having said that the Radio Springs Hotel keep threatening to show films, which would be awesome as it is a great venue and owned by the former owner of the Nova.
