Look I only really ever watch the athletics at the olympics but removing the 200m seems insane.
Surely that removes a major drawcard of athletes going for the 100m/200m and 200m/400m double which is Bolt, Johnson sort of territory.
Why would you just not apply it to all events if you were going to do it.
The rule basically just targets her either side of her pet event the 800m.
Then the next one that comes along is a sprinter or distance runner.......

Seems to me that the first jump is too close for the women, they can't generate enough pace and just flop over it in slow motion.
