Another tough matchup here, Harbrow a likely out. I would also look to drop Campbell Brown who has not been up to scratch in his time here and should prove himself in neafl.

Dixon bog in neafl also, would look to bring him in for Fraser who was avg last night. Charlie can play full forward and backup ruck which will be important v a big team in the kangas. Where are Stanley/Iles? Really need these guys in form.

In: Weller, Patrick, Dixon
Out: Brown, Harbrow, Fraser

Team:

Patrick Day Matera
Russell Bock Bennell
Rischitelli Ablett Caddy
Weller Brennan Shaw
Tape Warnock Lynch

Smith Prestia Swallow

Hunt Hall Mckenzie Dixon

Taken a few risks but thats what you need to do to win at this level as a young team.

Neither Dixon, Mav or Flash for that matter impressed me in the reserves game yesterday, I agree with you about Brown.

Rory was good and we all know we could use another tall in the backline. The big issue is who comes in for Harbrow to provide run off the half back flank.

Yep I have to agree both Browny and Fraser were well below par last night. They are so not earning their paycheck so far this season. Yes Browny used his body going the usual crash boom bang into packs, but he's just not getting a kick and looks so slow... Fraser simply should not be rested in the fwd line. Too slow, not mobile, can't lead.

However, I just don't think they will drop Brown. Fraser also unlikey as we have both Goldstein and McIntosh to cope with this week.

I would love to see Iles, Stanley, Weller and Thompson come in this week if fit. Thompson will allow Bock to stay fwd. Maybe even a Patrick for some speed and x-factor.

I would actually love Dixon to come in for Fraser, just can't see it happening.

Hopefully Warnock can hold Petrie... Lots of sad, sore and sorry players last night... And our fwd structure was dreadful... All the good things we achieved in the first half we undid 10-fold in the 2nd half.

Wow BB
I'm not sure replacing our 3 most experienced players with 3 rookies is going to do anything but provide North with an opportunity for a record AFL score rather than just a record Etihad score
If Dicko plays I've got a nasty feeling he might get Essendon deja vu from last year
We have reached an interesting point in the season
4 games in and no winnable games on the horizon and getting injuries
16 quarters of footy and we have won maybe 5?
The problem last night was none of our excellent first half pressure was converted into scoreboard result
Until we have an avenue to goal we're stuffed
I'm pretty sure the gameplan is for our mids to score 75% of our goals...which they do...unfortunately it's 75% of 8 or 9 goals rather than the required 15.
Who was more impressive yesterday?Us or GWS ?I think GWS
I really don't have any valuable thoughts on changes for next week.
They may as well try any of the guys in the NEAFL
If North beats Sydney today I predict Majak Daw will make his debut and Harvey will rest. They will also trial players from their Werribee team that is doing well in the VFL
That's about where we're at at the moment folks

I didn't realize how much we relied on Harbrow until he was gone. We'll really miss him. Swallow is in doubt I think, considering he went in for more medical attention instead of recovery on Sunday.

Brown must be dropped. He just doesn't offer enough for us right now and is taking the spot of a young kid who we could be getting games into.

Is Rory alright to come back so soon? I would maybe give him another week to get fitness up?

Fraser looking spent. Dixon in for him considering Charlie's form and new skills in the ruck.

Assuming Ablett plays and Swallow does not pull up, then..

Out: Swallow, Harbrow, Brown, Fraser
In: Iles, Weller, Dixon, Patrick

Patrick is the only one who I think plays a role similar Harbrow when off HB. To anyone watching in the 2s, how is he going?

Would also love to see Stanley in, but that ship appears to be getting ready to sail away.

Do you think they'll risk him?

Do you think they'll risk him?

If there's anything to risk, I don't think they will at all. They'll give Ablett another week off is he doesn't come up right, rather than force him to play through it.

Similar thing happened early last year. Any doubt, rule them out.

That's a big call. I had him in my top 3 for sure. His awareness and 1percenters seemed to have improved, and he looks to be cherishing his new role in the ruck.

Mav said last night that they were not stoked with the way they played, and personally thinks it was one of the worst grounds he has played on. It was ridiculously heavy under foot, and a few of the boys pulled up sore.

Flash patrick had no drama getting the ball yesterday, but apart from an awesome goal, his disposal was not up to NEAFL level let alone AFL level.

I agree with Rory. Had a good game, I felt he snuck under the radar a bit. Also seems to be a bit of an onfield leader which is good :thumbsu:

Hmm. If Patrick is suffering under pressures from NEAFL, perhaps he's a bit off senior call up then. :D Might have to change that in from my setup!

Is Rory fit enough, SUNS? Did he look out of steam or anything? If he had a good game and is fit enough, he might be called up for sure next week. If we could get him back into the side, would definitely free Bock to play forward more.

I can see where you would be dissapointed with Brown.

Ablett genuinely looks as if he has come up north to his football to a new level.
People were cynical of his reasons for going up but he is backing it up all the way. Even ex teammates reckon he had gone another level.

Brown looks like he has just grabbed the cash.

Unfortunately I think your right Sandy. He tries but his impact is minimal.

Agree with this about Brown. You cannot fault his endeavour.

I want to see Brown go back to defence, and try lead them there. I also like Lynch in defence.

I would coach McKenzie into that half back creative role, he is a left footer as well. I was a bit dissapointed with him from the Lions game. Needs to get those foot skills going. Or Bennell, and move McKenzie to half forward on my team below. Harley has great skills, and has that ability to get through traffic and make decent decisions. While McKenzie can boot it 70m and get us going forward very quickly.

OUT: Fraser, Harbrow, Hall
IN: Dixon, Iles, Stanley

B: Tape, Warnock, Brown
HB: McKenzie, Lynch, Iles
C: Brennan, Hunt, Rischitelli
HF: Bennell, Bock, Stanley
F: Dixon, Day, Matera
R: Smith, Ablett, Swallow
INT: Prestia, Russell, Caddy, Shaw

Basically like your team. But not sure about Ablett heard on FOX tonight that they have not cleared his AC yet and having scans tomorrow. Will be devastated if that is correct.
I like the inclusion of Isles I rate him over most of the kids and would love to see Stanley back. Not sure how he is going did not play last week but hopefully his injury is better. At this stage I would be happy to have him straight in rather than put him thru the Reserves. Anyone seen or heard how he is going.????
I just think we lack experience and toughness in the team atm. Dixon may be an option I guess we should give him a go too. I still like Hutchy would love to see him in but Tape did well this week so I guess he will hold his spot. Like the experiment of McKenzie in back line with Harbrow out we will miss that clearance player so a long bomb into the centre or beyonf could work. Still not convinced on Caddy his disposal is questionable, he fumbled terribly again. I suppose he has not played as much footy as the others but we have been led to believe he was the next Ablett

Bad luck for Harbrow but surely this is an opportunity to upgrade Horsely?

That's a good point. I hadn't even thought of that. Harbrow could be gone for as long as 2 months, in which case we can put him on the LTI and elevate the Horse.

I would coach McKenzie into that half back creative role,

not a bad idea
It's that Bob Murphy (Bulldogs), Aaron Davey(Mel) and even Daniel Wells(NM) role

BTW it looks like he's been pulling his kicks which makes me think he's been told to lower his eyes
Case on Saturday night when he probably could have unloaded from 70 out, but you could see him stop and nearly chip to I think it was Fraser or Brown

Definintely being selfish with my thoughts, but I really hope that Gaz pulls up ok and plays this week or is rested to play in rounds 6 & 7 when I will be travelling down from the states for the first time to see live footy........will be such a missed opportunity if he's out for any period of time.

Swallow may be available this week after scans done on Monday. He'll be very closely monitored to see how he comes up from training on Wednesday and Friday. Ashcroft is confident he might be okay to play though.

I think if this was a home game, he might play. The travel may play a factor and I would not risk Swallow if there is any uncertainty. Too important for our future, plus do we really want him anywhere near Norf? ;)

Rest him I saw, get him right to lead the midfield against Freo, and welcome back Gazza for the Giants game in Canberra

I expect Brown will go back and take the half-back role
Wouldn't be surprised to see Rory or Hutch in this week
If they don't play big Dicko this week he should start scanning the wanted pages for 2013
