If Johnson gives it up I would like it to go to Bowden, Richo or Newman. I think Brown is restricted due to his injury problems and as much as a good player he is, I think he should not be given it just yet.

As an outsider looking in, Nathan Brown seems a wise choice for captain. Has a good profile for the club, speaks well, takes responsibility on the field and is a quality footballer.

Look at him absolutely nailing winderlinch then davey with run down tackles in only his 5th or 6th game back from a badly broken leg. Look at the way his stats get better every year. Look at his 1%ers, his tackles, his spoils and his shepherds. He is the epitome of what a captain should be: not the best player but the most team-orientated, courageous and inspirational.

Does it really matter who has the title of 'Captain'. When Browny returned late in 2007 he was talking to the group at each break as well as Johnson. Brown is a team lifting leader.

Joel leads the defence.

Foley may well be our captain after Johnson (Not in 2008). I also agree on Newman being a more than handy candidate.
