When I'm a bit mixed on Gerard today, I'm going to ignore my criticism and give him props.

No one's questioning his objectivity as a caller and commentator on games that involve Geelong. He barracks for Geelong and Martin was splitting his team a part. But instead of letting it affect his demeanor, he got caught up in it. Some of his commentary today and in the game was funny regarding Martin. I had to remind myself that he was a Geelong fan!

24 hours on from the Panthers getting done over in the nrl GF. I can tell you that if I was doing a radio show now, there's no way I could come across as objective. If I was doing a radio show now, I'd make Phil Gould look like Ken Sutcliffe.

He was exceptional in the post game on Saturday night to be honest .

Im almost thinking he loves Dusty more than Geelong .

Gerard's professionalism is terrific and has always been a testament to his commentating.

I'm nornally a fan of him, but his holier than thou attitude about the night grand final is wearing pretty thin. Pretty much every poll suggests that 80% + want a day grand final. He generally tries to go for a considered take and avoid the more casual/bogan Robbo like takes. That's fine as he normally represents a fair chunk of the footy public opinion. He reads the room wrong on the night grand final though. It isn't some 50/50 split. His implication that anyone wanting a day GF is doing so with some agenda is trash. Calling the public 'desperate' and that they've 'lost their minds' is so out of touch with reality.
