Hi!!!! I am a big fan of the Australian band 1927 - who realeased ..ish - the best album, I have ever owned.

Anyway I am in real trouble, finding stuff on them, I use to have a scapbook of the band but made the HUGE!!! mistake of throwing it away

And I am real need of some pictures (especially of Eric Weideman) I have tried to find a website but to no avail....

Can anyone help????

:(

I have a mate in melbourne who is also a huge 1927 fan. I still have a vinyl copy of ISH myself somewhere...Hopefully my mate will have some info for you. I always thought the Takeaways were a much better band.

Could this be 'Bang The Drum?' I own their album. I remember a song 'Only You.'

As for 1927, I think my sister may have had one of their songs at her wedding. Can't remember which.

Me too... oh, the shame

Absolutely! Wasn't that Deborah Conway on vocals? I'll have to dig out my "Sweet and Sour" single and check the notes...

Yep! My copy has a list of the cast and musicians on the album. Ian Moss should be on there for his work on It's A Game, however he goes in under an alias of John something. One of these days I should track down Volume 2 of that sound track.
Ive also got the S & S single somewhere, with Image of An Angel on the flipside.

Hi Grogette,

This is what my mate had to say:

As for 1927 don't really have much. Got the best of and a few 7" singles and thats about it. I recently read they're playing gigs again, mainly around qld but may tour further. Tried to locate the site again but couldn't find it!

God I remember that song too!!!!! Sheesh. :D

Back to the topic........I actually quite liked 1927, they had some great songs. I own a greatest hits CD. However I was VERY much into Southern Sons, I own all their albums and some singles and stuff, so yeah I can't pass judgement on ANYONE now can I. :p :D
