I'm participating in Herald Sun Superteam which is a game where you have to pick a team, made up of current players, to go head to head with past Grand Final teams. It's based on statistics, but the only statistic I can find on the internet is the goals.

So the favour I'm asking is, for those of you who can remember back that far, to give an indication of who got how much of the ball.

Of course I know you can't figure out all of these statistcs foreach layer but it gves an indication of how the system works.

Hmm- not sure if this is an interesting exercise or a waste of time. Styles of play were so different.

1973 - move it fast, kick it long.
2008 - possession

1973 - more contested marks, more clangers,more ineffective kicks, more free kicks, more tackles, more tap-outs to advantage
2008 - more uncontested marks, more handballs, more possessions, more effective kicks.
