Do you think the bombers of 2000 are the greatest team the VFL/AFL has ever seen?

% of 159.1 and wiining margin of 8-10 goals. 24/25 wins (if only chris grant didnt kick that miracle goal) beating kangas by 125 in QF.

I have never bene more shattered at a football game than round 21 at the dome that year. Actually I have, 99 PF lol!

greatest team for one season YES by a country mile.. and it would be good to look back and see that team win the 1999,2000,2001 flag *snuff snuff* but thats footy the most dominate team in that period and we have one flag to show for it... the collingwood side in the 30's i think 4 in a row is pretty spectacular and the lions 3 in a row is a good if not better (due to bigger comp and fiercer comp).. but i think the lions have a lot to thank to their coach, in terms of managing players for the finals and knowing when to put the pedal down and when to back off.. i dont no why we 'chocked' mayb it was the expectations we were carrying or just not taking the opportunities we had.. but hey thats footy .. its a love/hate sport, you cant watch but you cant look away lol

Im still not over 1999. I cant believe we did it all without hird and lucas, honestly is quite amazing!

I don't think Jason Johnson was playing either.

I think JJ only played 4 or 5 games in 1999, but he was only really an emerging player. He'd only played about 15 games for his career prior to that.

To win a GF without Hird and Lucas would have been quite an achievement. Do you think many other teams would have won a premiership without their captain and star player eg:

Carey and Kangas
Kernahan and CCCarlton
Voss and Lions

who every said we drafted badly in 1999 wasnt entirely correct... we may not have drafted for the future but we did pick up a fella by the name of john barnes quite cheaply... and look what he did.. wasnt that just a miracle basically ran our ruck division in that period and was fuel to the mighty midfield machine in 2000! and then sheeds try to emulate that with paul salmon a year or 2 later.... lets not mention that one :o

02 the lions were f***kin good, i think with their list they could have, i would of said lynch was more important in their flags than voss, because voss had aker, lappin, black, power etc to take over the reigns as midfield/forward.. brown wasnt such a force back then so i think lynch would of hurt them more

Best i've seen. Nothing comes as close to footballing perfection as the 2000 QF.

I also reckon that if any other side had equivalent injuries to what we had in 2001 they wouldn't have even made the 8.
