Dowler and Muston are out with injuries
Ellis, Tuck and Bailey need to bulk up (plus Ellis has school commitments)
So I think Birchall so far is in best shape to be the first to Debut in the brown and gold

Birchall is the logical one.

Don't forget we still have guys like Little to make his debut and guys like Murphy, Dawson, Brennan, Young, Sewell, Boyle and Ladson in line to play a lot more footy.

Considering how many made their debuts right from round 1 last season, and the selectors policy on fast tracking the development of youth, we may well see most our new recruits blooded to some degree during the 2006 season - albeit providos such as school football and studies, injuries and physical stature.

Hawthorn will go into next year I believe with the opposite approach to this year , they wont blood too many players early , maybe around round 12 gunning some youngsters en masse. I still believe that despite Dowlers injury , he might still be the first onto the park wearing our jumper

Birchall definately, perhaps the young ruckman may get a game, or even Tucky later in the year.

Dowler hopefully will play some VFL footy at some stage next year.
