Gimme a sec, I gotta go get my crystal ball...

I reckon we would have to be a real chance this year. Last year there was no real standouts, Port and Brisbane are now back with the rest of the field, St Kilda missed the boat and Geelong look good, WCE can't win in Victoria and fully fit and motivated - its up for grabs. I think we peaked too early last year and had nothing left in the tank.

I dunno about your Rising Star tips, id say Marc Murphy but as a Geelong supporter i completely agree with the ladder, except that id have Hawthorn a bit higher on the ladder and Carlton last

waters cant win the rising star as he has been nominated before

Im pretty sure if a player is still eligible he can be nominated again. I think the player has to be under 21 and have played less than 10 games at the start of season. Waters would of surely played more than 10 games however....

Yeah i think he has played more than 10 games, but either way i still dont think he would have what it takes to win the Rising star

So was Brocky. They have to play less than a certain number of games if they wish to be nominated again.

waters hasnt played 10 games yet i didnt think, but if you look at hawthorns starting team its pretty crap, they are way too young and must finish bottom this year, but definite finalists in bout 4-5 yrs time

Is there anyone at Melbourne that could seriously contend for the Rising Star? I liked the look off Chris Johnson when he played a few games last year. I assume that Bell is either too old or played too many games to be eligible....

CJ should still be eligable, possible outsiders Bate & Dunn.

Chris Johnson and Nathan Jones would be my bet if we are going to have any chance of a player winning the Rising Star. Bate might be a smokey.
I doubt any player will win it, but I just hope some of the young guns like Bate and CJ play around 10 games and do OK.
