Well, the thread is about who the gun midfielders are, so I'd say Cotchin, Masten, Palmer, Selwood, Rioli, Maric, Ebert come to mind.

Based on this comment we must have been ecstatic to land all of Masten, Selwood and Ebert.

Was there anything to suggest he'd be a flight risk even if we picked him?

I will admit to being in the Palmer camp over Masto.
Of the 3 (with Morton), we still chose the best option no matter how Masto is perceived now.

He was his own worst enemy though, not telling the medical staff how much pain he was in pretty much stuffed his ankle for the next few seasons. Without that there's a fair chance he'd be here leading the midfield with Shuey next season

Selwood would have been bloody useful this year. His ankle injury was the best thing to happen to Hutchings.
