First corner crash, the full speed replay will scare the shit out of anyone;

Unbelievable footage. There was a time where surely an accident like that would've caused fatalities. Instead all drivers walk away unhurt. Look at how he had the presence of mind to steer away as the Lotus came flying over him. It was a lost cause, but amazing reactions nonetheless.

Also just watched the start again - Maldonado only about 5 minutes early releasing the clutch there ;)

Has there been any word regarding Maldonado? If he jumped the start then surely he should get a penalty?

Grosjean banned for one race. Not seen that happen in a while- but then, he could have gotten other drivers killed, so a harsh penalty is necessary.

Two 5 place grid penalties - one for the jump start, the other for contact with Glock

I'm no fan of Maldonado, but a 5 place grid penalty for jumping the start is pretty harsh. He would have got a drive through penalty during the race if the stewards had been quicker in their decisions. The jump start was pretty obvious, and the penalty should have been served staright afetr the sfaety car came in.

Congrats to Button on a dominating win, yet again Vettel picks up the pieces to score valuable points. Grosjean's 1 race penalty is deserved, but his actions have made the battle for the Drivers Championship suddenly wide open again.

I don't know what to say about Raikkonen's third placing, the Lotus didn't seems to have race winning pace and suffered KERS problems yet again, but maybe their much vaunted DDRS upgrade can make them competitve at Monza.

The McLaren car is back in form and surely the Hamilton/Button pairing will eventually be challenging Red Bull for the Constructors and pushing Alonso for the Drivers Championship.

The Red Bull continues to have a worrying lack of straight line speed and will surely struggle at Monza.

It was pretty glaring, more so for Mark. They should be better positioned for the next race in Singapore, but it's bloody hard to overtake here so he'd want to qualify up at the pointy end.

Stewards must of been lazy or something with the Maldonado jump start because most of the time that would be a drive through.

To be fair, Valencia this year has crapped all over our ability to use it as the prototype of a completely shitful race (at least in the short term).

True, Valencia this year was a good one...
Cant remember the ones before being anything spectacular though.
How about Singapore? ok it has the night time novelty...

The Valencia races before this year were worse than Genocide.

Singapore hasn't traditionally been fantastic especially now the novelty has worn off.

You have to give Vettel credit, he seized upon his oppotunity. If he has another result this week, he'll probably go on from here :oops:
