Seriously, when you have fans like this thinking the problem is "going forward" you must wonder if they even watch the game. The problems as I see them in order of importance.

1) Little aggression. Instead of seeking violent contact Freo players run away from it if it comes close, or they don't run to a contest, hoping the Freo player getting triple teamed will handball it to them instead.

2) Too weak, too dumb. How many broken tackles were there? How many players opt to try and round the opposing player up instead of hip and shouldering them or tackling them hard into the grass? They might as well be witches hats with arms on them.

3) Midfielders. We lack ball winners, and our rising star ball winner has been ousted from the coup by the coaches. Our draft pick in Pitt last year is supposed to bring what to the team exactly? Another ibbotson? Can't wait those 5 years to get another Ibbotson, oooo I'm excited.

4) Attitude. I see maybe 10 Freo players who seem to be wanting to play football. The other 12 look like they aren't enjoying being out there. When the other team gets 3 goals ahead, these 12 look even more disinterested. "Oh can't wait to get back home in my spa and play some PS3" .

So you're saying we need more Mcphees ;)

Anyway you look at it, there's a lot wrong with the make up a lot of our midfielders. Weak, slow, small, cant kick 50. That said, a lot of them are only 3 years in, but look at someone like Yarran - he looks like he goes to the gym 24/7 - then look at Michael Johnson.

We need to recruit some big bodied tall midfielders ready to go now, otherwise it could be a while

Yes Michael Johnson is one part of the problem, but look at our other players. Duffield looks the same since he started, Suban's body fat percentage is too high, Hill is having stress fractures from running around at his new body weight (our fault for choosing a very skinny player), MJ looks as if he has lost weight since his first days, Mundy hasn't changed his body type since he started.

It's 100% indicative of training.

The worst thing is when you see new players come to Fremantle and they show a glimpse of how good they are , before hanging around deadbeats that don't train hard enough and don't care about football enough. And considering some of these players are in the "Leadership group" it shows how bad we have it I believe.

I've seen amateurs with better kicking skills than many Freo players. Amateurs. And considering Freo players are paid a very good wage to practice and train it just isn't good enough when you have 55% disposal efficiency as a team.

The worst thing is our highest paid midfielder in Mundy is going to return and whilst he has very good skills his pressure, speed and attitude aren't things he is known for.

I am not sure there is much truth about this - Barlow is 189cm, Mundy 190cm, Morabito 190cm, Fyfe 186cm, Lower 185cm, Hill 183cm and Suban 180cm. Barlow and Hill are fast (Morabito was fast) and Barlow, Mundy, Morabito, Lower are strong midfielders. Morabito, Mundy, Hill and Suban can all kick 50m+.
