Nothing to do with hunger.

As a 19yo he was playing a bit part along side Barry Hall and did well flying under the radar. Since then he has held the number 1 forward role in a forward line bereft of tall options and has competed against hardened, number 1 defenders since then. And it's not as though he's a man mountain. I think the job he has done as a skinny kid against big defenders has been admirable, but clearly I am in the minority. Having said that though, the vitriol that he has been subjected to has been completely out of order. He's a kid who is progressing, but is someone who can't be judged until he is 25, so 2 more years. Just think of the treatment that Tomahawk received- they were going to trade him in 2009 FFS. He's a very good 2nd forward option and will be a good, productive forward, but he must be judged later.
Agree unreservedly on Jones. He's a victim of the club he plays for, above all. Came to the club at the wrong time with a ravenous supporter base expecting him to be the answer. While he had some support, he looked like it, didn't he?

Yeah I'm taping it and having a few mates around Sunday to have a look , pretty excited
Duggan is 9 by the way for Metro
McKenzie 38 , Neilson 32 Viojo Rainbow 15 Langford 28
DeGoey is 21, Petracca is 20, Langdon 2, Laverde 27, Menadue 26 All for Metro

I like Butler from country 9, Cordy is 18 if he plays, Goddard is 38

so there is some names and numbers to remember

I live near Sandringham and went down in his first year to watch Aker play in the 2s and this tall streak of misery just tried to take screamer after screamer on top of people's heads-without a lot of success. But he has the athletic ability and good hands. His kicking has improved a lot and I know he'll make it, not to be a Lockett, but as good AFL forward.

Just wish he could stick them in his hands a little bit more often!

I'm really hoping he makes it because at the start he looked like he could be anything , he went backwards now is starting to show good signs of working that bit harder tackling and chasing and his goal kicking has improved out of sight

Not many kids come in and dominate. Look at Joe Daniher. They are not hugely dissimilar however JD has more footy smarts. I think JD will dominate but I also think there could be a 2 year lull before he really comes good. It happens to all of the big kids. Unless you're Jeremy Cameron or built like Hercules.

Don't know anything about him but if he's a Dogs supporter he's overqualified for love from me.
#7 Richmond – Liam Duggan (VIC – Def/Mid)
Height: 183cm, Weight: 76kg, DOB: 11/12/1996
Recruited from: Western Jets
Style:
Player comparison: Luke McDonald
Range: 3-15
Profile: Duggan is a classy player who can play both off a back flank or through the midfield to a high standard. He’s showing this year that he can win his own ball and is also a very lively tackler through the midfield. He has some real pace but his real point of difference is his footskills. With ball in hand Duggan is all class using it well on his left foot, doing damage with his precision kicking and vision to see the best targets up the field ultimately more often than not making the right decision. He hits targets both over short and long distances so you want the ball in his hands. He also has an above average burst of speed and some linebreaking ability. Duggan has excellent ability down back to read the ball in the air and take the intercept mark. As a December birthday and with his strong continued development there is lots of improvement left.

Try and tell me that isn't exactly what we need?! (besides a kpf of course)

He's the sort of player I want and he's a Dogs supporter, all aboard the Duggan train!

And is it pronounced Dug-gan or Doo-gan? I know people with the name that pronounce it either way

Bontempelli dishes out a handpass through heavy traffic to Macrae who baulks one, baulks two kicks the ball into space for Duggan to ran at, gathers with time to assess his options; sees nothing he likes...heads for home...GOAL! :p How I predict his first goal will go down

On a different note, how ****ing good was Macrae's baulk coming out of the back 50 at some point in the first half I think (can't remember when it was but you'll remember it!)

But yeah, if the guys in charge can find a way to get Duggan + another quality forward on the list this off season without giving up anything ridiculous I'll be a very happy man.

its a reality ;)

and I dont actually remember it, I seen him do it many times though
Macrae and Bontempelli in traffic though :drunk: I remember when I wanted Bontempelli I was talking up his kicking and some of his handpasses have been magic and that long bomb goal; think we'll be seeing more of that

I think Duggan has been tagged during games quite heavily as well, will be interested to hear what Quigley says about him at the end of the year; will have to go back and see what he thought of Bontempelli

If we at least grab one KPF in this draft, I'll be happy

excluding the rookie draft; would just sleep easier having at least one more KPF on the list :p

Would love to find it, it was magic :p

Yeah Duggan/Pickett, best available KPF at our 2nd rounder, Cordy and Foster and I'd be pretty rapt

I'd just go Pickett/Duggan, KPF, Cordy, best available then Rookie draft Foster

I think if we did what I said, trade our first two picks for Gold Coasts 1st-2nd round picks we might need to take Cordy in the second round
because Gold Coasts pick would come a bit later, allowing other clubs to bid; including Essendon  I'd be alright taking him then
early second round, mid second round; sure why not  would have to hope that Duggan would get to us if that was the case

Will be excited to see what happens, I've been pleased with our last couple years of recruiting at the national draft
Pearce has been really unlucky though :(

Either way his nickname will be Hacksaw if he ends up at the Western Oval.

I was going to suggest Chuggan, and we have to drink every time he gets a touch, but that's good too, and probably safer :p

1st game lazy 30 touches :drunk: want the year to be nearly over already, start the combine up
:D this time I'll try to be on Bigfooty when I watch it, even though a lot of the mock drafts just before it were very accurate by that stage
I still act very surprised ;)

Haha really? I always love draft time but I hate that horrible period between the Grand Final and the First Test, seeing as I don't follow any American sports and only vaguely follow the EPL :(

I'll be surprised one way or another, I'll try not to pay too much attention and a club always shocks everyone :p

I still acted surprised when we got Stringer, was genuinely surprised when we got Macrae
thought we'd have gone with Mayes, but then I remember where I saw Macrae
I was watching the Oakleigh v Gipp. Power game and know he tore that game up
had a good finals run actually that year and obviously good solid numbers in the U18s (think he was stiff not to get AA)

when the Jets have their finals, I'll be following how Duggan goes very closely
because like I said; kicked 3 crucial fourth quarter goals to scrape over the line in a final when his coach put him up forward
and put it on him to win them the game so that is at least one game

is a Bulldogs supporter and I heard he is one Jets player that has Doug Hawkins as a mentor o_O
Duggan is from Bacchus Marsh so it'd of been when Dougie was there

Nope Hacksaw I want a big "Hooooooo!" to go around the ground like the "Cooonss" chant before him.

For those who have no idea what I'm on about...

Wasn't surprised when we got Stringer, was somewhat distracted that year so Macrae was a big surprise for me :p I thought we were right into Wines, heard a lot of talk we were pretty much guaranteed to select him, but look what that amounted to, haha.

Duggan's my favourite now anyway, haha, I'll be following his form as closely as I can. I've been keen on McCartin but that seems unlikely with Brisbane and St Kilda occupying the cellar, so make Duggan a Bulldog and hope Brisbane get McCartin so we can go-home-factor him :p

'Armed with his trusty 2 by 4 and an undying love for his club, Hacksaw Liam Duggan will defend the honour of the red, white and blue for over a decade'

Yeah, this is happening.

I also forgot, Duggan is born on December 11th so he is a late birth as well
I'm about to watch after half time the AIS v Collingwood game and watch how he plays
