I don't know why he's rated so low. I did see a phantom earlier today that had him taken by Essendon I think. He might be one of those ones that has slipped from the media radar but not the clubs.
Yep, this could easily be the case. Certainly if you're looking for output and versatility over 'future perception' then he'd be well in front of R McK.

Why would Jack Steven leave? Just curious.
Just a feeling, but he's mid 20's in a side that'll be in the bottom rung for another three seasons you'd think. If he stays fit he'll have offers from alomst every team, especially if he has a 2013-like season

Reece Mckenzie looks a genuine FF, but could he play higher? He's big, he's quick (he was slightly quicker than Menadue and Cockatoo in testing) and can mark. But Keitel does play both ends. With Boyd in, do we need FF or CHF. Could Boyd play higher? I'm not sure. I like Mckenzie and I like Keitel. Just depends on who is where and when as to what happens. I think both have to be on the radar.

Surprised there isn't a bit more love for Cunico on here, seems a very similar type to Menadue that we all love. What don't people like about him?

Not as tall, does not look as quick or as prepared to take on players as Menadue. Similar in many ways. I like him and if we got him we could do worse.

Both would surely be on the radar as you say, my preference, because i've seen more of him, is Keitel. I think his durability (positional and body-wise) lends more to our side moving forward than RMcK perhaps, but i might be on my own there.

If both are there at P39 it'll be interesting.

Menadue @ 34......

- Us passing him

60. Carlton
Jayden FOSTER
Calder Cannons | 1/6/95 | H: 195cm | W: 90kgI was surprised that the Bulldogs didn’t take him as a late father-son pick. He has developed his strength and agility this year and is a good mark on the lead, but he needs to now start taking pack marks and crashing packs. He is a quite reliable kick for goal and there is no comparison in regards to where he is now from where he was at the same time last year. He is a late developer who will be a monster of a man at 21 or 22. – Calder Cannons talent manager Ian Kyte

Would everyone be happy with Ellis? Not a huge fan but can see thatd he'd offer us a bit of what we lack.
there is not a lot separating the mids in the top 30 or so I reckon. It will come down to personality fits and so on in some cases. Ellis looks good but not head and shoulder above anyone else.

Menadue at 34. Get the feeling people are over thinking this like they did with Taylor last year. Putting on muscle and learning contested ball can be taught some of what he does can't.

He wont be 69 kgs forever.
Reece McKenzie is at the 40s and he suggests he might go as low as the 60s

also worth noting, he didn't pick Harrison Wigg at all

Quite early, Wigg P29 for Gold Coast

I hope we don't pass on him. Osca McDonald keeps cropping up at 27 and I don't like it, do they know something or is it a case of dogs need a defender so let's plonk him there.

I would not be unhappy with Clem Smith at 45 and Jordan Cunico at 46.

The Smith bros (Clem and Clay) would do some absolute damage to opponents for Footscray in 2015 when Clay is back. :D

A Byron Pickett type player who's kicking and composure could be worked on easily with proper coaching, has a lot of physical tools to work with. Brett Goodes would be a great influence for him.

ah, I skimmed past him
you're a big fan of Webb correct?
McLean at 39 would be brilliant
Also, Clem Smith at 45

Sure am.

I think he didn't have Peter Bampton as one notable omission, but had more ruckman, albeit late but nonetheless, being drafted than any other PD i've seen.

We've already got Stringer and Crameri though who have had to play out of their height/weight division who are similar types of forward to Gunston, Gunston is a true 3rd type as Hawthorn generally have a resting ruck helping take the load off Roughy. Stringer perhaps could handle bigger bodies if he bulked up but then he'd lose his agility/acceleration which are key areas of his game. If Payne is a lightweight then what's the point when we are already stocked with similar types?

He isn't a third tall type he is just a CHF who needs to put on some muscle. Though he is a fantastic mark and kick for a guy that size and moves so well so I wouldn't know who to compare him to.

Viney, Toumpas, Jones, Tyson, Cross, Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Vince And add more in the draft.
Very good midfield in a few years
Cross and vince will be done by the time petracca and Brayshaw are any good and jones will be heading that way as well. He's 27 in January.

Viney is a good goer but small with average skills. Toumpas is an ok link man but they're a dime a dozen. Tyson is a beast. Salem is small and still a query.

I'm not concerned about melbourne at all.
