Not nasty at all - our last pick 49 so couldnt use that if we nominated him as it would be way overs
I have a conspiracy theory regarding Cordy, Foster, the father son nomination reasoning and pick 46. We'll see tomorrow night.

It may pay to remember the AIS-AFL academy team lost to Collingwoods
Vfl side by 73 points this year.
Avoid them all you reckon?

Seems to be settling down in a lot of the phantoms for our first 2 picks with the consensus being that we get EVW and Menadue. I'm more than ok with that. I think guys like Webb and Evans and similar will still be about at 39 to 46.

R Mckenzie if available at 26 must be tempting, but I would stay the course and try for Keitel or Hammelman later in the draft. I think our biggest need is skilled mids and one or two with some pace would be ideal.

Surely De Goey doesn't go to Collingwood? Like maybe GWS, at least they've shown they don't really know what theyre doing and are happy to waste high picks. Sure he will probably be a good player but you want better from a pick 5 IMO.

Agree with this. I reckon if anyone slides out of the top 10 from the current Phantoms it will be him.

I would not be unhappy with Clem Smith at 45 and Jordan Cunico at 46.

The Smith bros (Clem and Clay) would do some absolute damage to opponents for Footscray in 2015 when Clay is back. :D

A Byron Pickett type player who's kicking and composure could be worked on easily with proper coaching, has a lot of physical tools to work with. Brett Goodes would be a great influence for him.

Dont like players described as having bad composure at lower levels. Means they will really struggle at higher ones.

not really

you wouldn't expect any team 18 and under to beat a mature VFL team though
regardless of talent
In the corresponding game last year Tom Boyd took ten marks and
stamped himself as a number one pick. It is good too see that
someone realizes we are talking about a bunch of kids and not
the top ten of next years brownlow medal.

It would be nuts for them to pass up Laverde. He is everything that they would want.

What is it then? 20 different scenarios could happen that you can then say "I knew that already"...

What are you referring to Yojimbo? Nobody thinks anyone of the kids are going to become superstars overnight. 90% of them will be lucky to play 10 games for the year.

Does it result in us somehow getting foster?
Just because we didn't nominate him doesn't stop us from drafting him. Although I highly doubt it. He really needs 3 years on a rookie list, to save him from the expectations of doggy supporters.
