Who is going to win the most this year and who will take home the dreaded wooden spoon? Can the Chooks go back to back and can the Eels finally lift themselves off the bottom?

And here are my predictions. This not who will win the comp but how I predict the ladder will look at the end of the regular season.

1. Roosters
2. Rabbitohs
3. Panthers
4. Sharks
5. Broncos
6. Storm
7. Dragons
8. Sea Eagles
9. Knights
10. Titans
11. Bulldogs
12. Tigers
13. Eels
14. Cowboys
15. Warriors
16. Raiders

1. Manly-Warringah
2. Canberra
3. Penrith
4. Newcastle
5. North Queensland
6. Auckland-New Zealand
7. Gold Coast
8. Melbourne
9. Cronulla-Sutherland
10. Sydney
11. South Sydney
12. Brisbane
13. Canterbury-Bankstown
14. Wests Tigers
15. Parramatta
16. St George Illawarra

hmm interesting prediction. I can't see Dragons taking the spoon though. And why the massive drop of the Roosters and Souths

To be honest every team from 6 thru to 12 i could've put anywhere from 6 to 12. Those particular teams to me will all be in the middle of the pack this year. Why roosters and rabbitohs drop. Don't think they'll be top 4 material but come back to earth enough as other teams lift enough too.

Just say it like it is GG, you have no idea and drew them out of a hat.:drunk:

1. Roosters
2. Souths
3. Manly
4. Cowboys
5. Melbourne
6. Brisbane
7. Newcastle
8. Penrith

9. Sharks
10. Dragons
11. Warriors
12. Bulldogs
13. Titans
14. Canberra
15. Eels
16. West Tigers

Roosters
South Sydney
Storm
Manly
Cowboys
Broncos
Warriors
Sharks

Panthers
Knights
Dragons
Bulldogs
Eels
Tigers
Titans
Raiders

Very hard to predict, as there are plenty of suprises, with teams unexpectedly dropping off and teams unexpectedly rising up to top four. The form of so many sides in the NRL apart from the top three goes up and down like yo-yos.

Hard to see Rabbitohs and Roosters significantly dropping off.

I suspect one of Broncos, Panthers or Dragons will rise up to top four.

Confident that Tigers, Titans and Raiders won't make it.

End of Regular Season Ladder

1. Easts (retained all but one of their GF lineup and should be thereabouts again)
2. Manly (DCE entering his prime and have an ability to do well every year)
3. Penrith (possibly the "2013 Roosters" of 2014 if recruits fire consistently)
4. Souths (Burgess instability and 2013's demoralising exit will see slight drop)
5. Brisbane (young blokes will perform better and Barba will rediscover form)
6. Melbourne (the big three are getting older and Widdop is gone; slide to come)
7. Cronulla (great team but ongoing ASADA woes will inhibit their performance)
8. Newcastle (nothing remarkably good or bad about them)

9. Warriors (Tomkins and Johnson two great unknowns- could be 2nd or 13th)
10. North Queensland (no Bowen, new coach, and ageing Thurston makes this a transitional year in Townsville)
11. Gold Coast (no Idris and fate rests largely in the hands of players who have not yet stepped up consistently)
12. St George-Illawarra (Widdop an able replacement for Soward but rest of team seem inconsistent)
13. Canterbury (again, with no Barba, become highly unpredictable- will his departure be a blow or a stabiliser?)
14. Parramatta (Hopoate, Hayne, Sandow, and Arthur will lift us from the bottom but a long way to go)
15. Wests Tigers (Potter to go mid-season, youngsters will fire occasionally but require more game time to mature)
16. Canberra (it'll be close for the Spoon but I've gone for Canberra just because, of the two youngsters who could inspire Canberra to the Top 8, Milford is half-hearted about Canberra and Edrick Lee has not proven himself consistently yet)

Finals
Easts d Souths 16-8
Penrith d Manly 26-24
Brisbane d Newcastle 30-12
Cronulla d Melbourne 14-10

Cronulla d Manly 25-18
Souths d Brisbane 13-12 (Golden Point)

Easts d Cronulla 19-18 (Golden Point- Rothfield goes doubly bananas)
Souths d Penrith 22-14

Araluenian doesn't look far off to me. I'll have a go:

Manly (unfortunately)
Broncos (ditto)
Souths
Easts
Warriors
Cowboys
Sharks
Storm

Knights
Panthers
Titans
Dogs
Tigers
Eels
Dragons
Raiders

If someone could be bothered, we could score these at the end of the season (zero points for spot-on position, one point for one position out etc, lowest score wins). Or, I guess, everyone could score their own... :)

Nice predictions Araluenian. I think you might really be on the money here. We havent picked to differently. We both chose 7 of the same teams for the top 8

Think this is pretty spot on, except I dunno who Easts are?
Searched all through the fixture and NRL website with no mention of them. I remember we used to play Eastern Suburbs back in the day, but surely a proud club like that wouldn't just forget their history & change their name :p

Hi guys. I'm the new guy here. First post. My predictions are based on a solid study of the last years performance, list, coach, injures etc.

My two GF winners for both the NRL and AFL are :

OK here's the deal so listen closely.

Correctly tipping teams 1-4 and 13-16 will earn you 1 point each team.

Correctly tipping teams 5-12 will earn you 2 points each team.

You will all have until the night before the first game of the regular season to assess and edit your tips as I will copy and paste all your entries into a spreadsheet on that eve of the first week.

Just use your existing posts and edit that as often as you want. Don't make new posts of tips.
not a bad idea

I know that it was already said not to repost the whole thing and just edit your old predictions but since mine were the first post i thought Id throw my updated picks down here with the rest of them.

I liked my system more. :p

End of Regular Season Ladder

7. Cronulla (great team but ongoing ASADA woes will inhibit their performance)

I can understand why someone would think that but we had the spectre of drug investigation hanging over our heads all last year and still won our share of games. The history of Cronulla is that we have shot ourselves in the foot so many times we are immune to scandal.

Strangely enough I think your ladder prediction is about right.
