Hey guys,
The thread at the moment revisiting 2013 predictions has me thinking, what do we expect from next year- whether it be ladder position, a player taking a step up or perhaps no longer being best 22?

I think our performance will improve but I'm not sure if it will be enough to make Top 4. I expect a 4-5 Finish.

As far as player improvement, would love to see someone like McBean getting a regular game so we had a dangerous forward line again, as well as some class like maybe Knights back their. I also expect Ellis to take another big step up and continue to cement his spot as one of our best players and also improve his standings amongst the competitions elite.

Reckon there'll be a lot more hard games next year.Saints are the only side I can see actually getting worse. Maybe a few of the top sides will, but not to the point they won't still be very good. Brisbane could go either way depending on morale under the new coach and how long they take to learn a new gameplan. Carlton are 50/50 depending on who they lose and add during the off-season. Essendon obviously depends on off-field factors. Can't see Adelaide & WC being shit two years running. Norf won't be as unlucky. Port should be even better. Reckon the Dogs will be next year's Port. The expansion teams are only going to get better (GCS will be a genuine finals contender IMO though will probably still just fall short) and Melbourne -who we only beat by 6 goals- can't possibly be any worse and should at least improve slightly. I think we're going to need to step up a level to just make the 8 again and several levels to be top 4.

This is all of course disregarding injuries and the draw - for us & the other sides.

.....and as defending premiers, every team will be gunning for us.

Don't we have 6 months of off-season for these kind of threads? Use these ones up now and we'll be starting the off-season with thread gems like "Which animal does player X remind you of?" instead of them coming at the end. Not sure what depths we'll be plumbing if the half decent threads are all gone before the season is even done. Will probably give me a good excuse to take a BF holiday though.

22-0 top spot
Jack to kick 151 goals
Cotchin win the Brownlow with a record 66 votes as he becomes the first player in history to average 50 disposals a game.
McBean wins the Rising Star after finishing second to Jack in the Coleman with 149 goals
For the first time in history the AA side is the Richmond best 22.

Can't believe we've already started a 2014 thread.....

If you don't like it no need to pay it any attention and ruin others enjoyment of the discussion. All this thread has done is bump Reece Conca's 50th game thread to page two, hardly a tragedy...

Disapointing, would expect McBean to also break the AFL mark of 150.

Chris knights will make a huge differance next year. Another preseason into Cotchin, Martin,Conca, Ellis, and Vlaustin will only improve us. Add another first round pick and maybe a trade. Tbh I can't see us going up but I can't see us going down. North Melbourne will improve next year and be pushing for a position around us in the eight. I just hope that IF we miss the finals we don't get stuck into Hardwick

Too funny!!

I don't get this thread. Why don't we see what happens in September and start talking about our chances for '14 in October? Sorry, but I just don't get it.

Like Harmichael, I can't see many teams being worse in 2014 than they were in 2013. Except the Saints. Poor bastards.

So 2014 should be a cracking year and I'll be looking for the Tigers to finish top 4. To get there, we'll need to find a player or two (as does every club, every year) and get some incremental improvement across the list as a whole and / or game plan.

And the player I am looking forward to watching most is Vlaustin. How good is he gunna be? I can't believe this is his first season.

Well the whole pre-season will be taken up by Mcbean threads.Need to get these type of threads while we can.;):D

Top 2 is the only thing that is acceptable for me.

Anything less and hang the team infront of Richmond town hall
And you will lose your shit......

I think our draw will be a little tougher next year, will wait for that first.

I predict we'll play GC and GWS twice, along with Collingwood, Hawthorn and Adelaide/West Coast twice.

I'll also predict St. Kilda/Richmond at Wellington.
