I know it's a little early but what are your initial thoughts for 2014 ?
On the main board they have a sliders and risers thread, and it is surprising to see a huge number predicting Freo to slide.

The concern for me is that we will be guaranteed to have a harder draw and teams like WC, Gold Coast and Sydney are sure to have less injuries than they did this year.

Also so much has been made of our pressure that teams will plot how to combat it over the off season like hawthorn managed to. And will we see teams lower down the ladder copying Lyons game plan next year because they believe it works ?

I hope we can get a key forward and keep our best players on the ground and experience that GF excitement again, but I have no illusions of how hard that will be.

I would like to hear your thoughts ???

Right now it is hard to think how 2014 could offer us a better chance of a flag than 2013.

The game was there for the taking. Hawthorn were average by their standards. We had more than enough chances. Opportunities like that are rare, and unfortunately we froze in the moment and butchered a premiership.

But in saying that, hopefully the likes of Crozier and Morabito can give us a lift and make us a more dangerous side in attack. There's room for improvement. But so many things have to go right to get as far as we did this year.

Another year under the belt for Sandi, Pav, McPharlin will not help.

A star KPF recruit might be of benefit.

Could the Steves pull off another offseason silent stealth bombshell and have a certain hawks premiership player coming our way ? I would not write the idea off

Given his very average performances in GFs not sure he is capable of delivering what we need.

I can understand that we would be the first on people's minds when it comes to sliders. We were the last to lose this season :p

If the footy injury god looks kindly on us (every teams gets a few but they weren't nice to us this year), I expect us to be pushing top 4 again, even with a tougher draw.

Hey guys, I can't start my own thread to ask because I'm a newbie but it seems kinda relevant in here. Do you think the gold premium seats at PS are worth it? Looking at the floor plan they seem quite far away from the action. Can any current members recommend them?

Don't think you can get them anymore? Someone will correct me if I am wrong.

Not even for next season? Best would just be regular premium then?

Pretty sure they have been sold out for a couple of years now, and I'm not sure that anyone will give them up next year now.

You can always apply for them, and they will let you know. Won't be until next year though.

We need to blood a new back. Someone with a brain who can learn from MACCA and MJ.

Talls are in good supply and form.

Mids are strong.

Forward set up needs to be rethought from the ground up.

Neale must start and Subs should be sub.

We will have a tougher draw and significant challenges. We are officially on the map and therefore won't be given an inch.

Expect a much better Sydney, Richmond, WCE and Suns.

Aiming top four and anything can happen from there.

Come on everyone have trust in RTB yes having ageing back line and forwards is a bit concerning but I trust our recruiters to do something and not leave us stranded for the future.

Bad luck about yesterday guys. Just a query talking about a KKP. Was reported this morning on radio and also tv that GWS are going to offer their no.1 pick for Nathan Fyfe....would you guys do it??

It looks like they still sold premium gold this year. I think it depends how close you want to be to the action.

I have a seat in block 130 row H - great viewing. If you are looking at the prices on the Freo site, I don't think they are right. According to the seat plan my seat is standard but it costs me more than $155. This year it was about $330

doubt it! That would kinda kill our efforts to back up 2014 and beyond. Mundy is aging. We need to aggressively keep Fyfe.

I'm all for bringing in a KPF and let ballas and mayne crumb and pressure.

Going to watch AFL Gameday and the GF replay on 7 as an exercise to assess who the weak points were. Again it's reactionary to suggest dropping or trading based on GF performance, however, it's worth the analysis.

I think buddy is way too much money for his worth!!! Don't recruit him! Surely there is someone better priced who will be as useful, younger in age, and a successor to Pav.

We can do just as well in 2014. All comes down to a bit of luck, injuries etc as for any team, any year. People saying Pav, Sandi, Macca being a year older is true, but we may get more out of them next year than 2013. Didn't see much of Pav and Sandi and Macca missed 7-8 weeks and obviously underdone for finals. Mora is a question mark. Ibbo and Clancee should be back and there will be huge competition for places in the 22 with extra development of Crozier, Michie, Sheridan etc

We'll pay overs for a full forward. It's not what he's worth, but what he needs. The football economy isn't any different.

Call me crazy but pick 1 + ward for fyfe i'd do, or plus another very talented young midfielder.
